Throughout his NBA career, LeBron James has generally stayed away from political controversies, even when his eldest son, Bronny James, was targeted with political memes. However, the Los Angeles Lakers legend recently made headlines by speaking against former U.S. President Donald Trump.
At the National Association of Black Journalists convention, Trump made a controversial remark about employment in the Black community.
“I will tell you that coming from the border are millions and millions of people that happen to be taking Black jobs,” Trump said.
Popular gymnast Simone Biles responded to Trump’s comment with a dig on social media, writing, “I love my black job.”
LeBron James later weighed in on the situation by sharing Biles’ post and adding his own message of support.
“Black 🐐🖤,” James posted on X.
Biles recently made history by becoming the oldest all-around gymnast champion since 1952. She then used her platform to humorously address Trump’s statement and got James’ support.

NBA fans had all sorts of things to say when they saw LeBron James extending his support to Simmon Biles against Donald Trump’s remark. Many fans shared their appreciation for the Los Angeles Lakers star for taking a stance against Trump’s controversial remark.
One fan even was so impressed to compare his superiority to Michael Jordan for his strong support for the black community.
LeBron James is also vying to bring glory to the USA. Team USA have already won two of its Paris Olympics games against Serbia and South Sudan. The USA basketball team’s next game is Saturday, August 3, when they will face Puerto Rico.
