Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler showcased exceptional skills in the last NBA season, leading the team to the playoffs. Unfortunately, Butler missed the playoffs due to a season-ending injury. Recently, the Heat’s star forward pointed the finger at a Philadelphia 76ers star for the reason behind his injury.

The 35-year-old star sustained a medial collateral ligament sprain during a play-in game against the Philadelphia 76ers. As a result, the Heat lost to the Boston Celtics in the first round of the playoffs while Butler was out.

The 6-time NBA All-Star recently achieved a milestone in his professional career by being featured in the Netflix docuseries “Starting 5.” In one scene, the Heat star accuses Kelly Oubre Jr. of causing his MCL sprain when Oubre landed on Butler’s leg.

“F**king Kelly Oubre jumping in the air doing wrestling moves on people, which is crazy. I was just so confident in my ability. I was like, ‘Yeah, we got this one in the bag.’ Injuries happen, man. Damn, injuries happen,” Butler said.

Butler, who recently poked fun at DeMar DeRozan, has been a dominant force behind the Heat’s playoff appearances in the last NBA season. The 35-year-old star averaged 20.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 5.0 assists in 60 games in 2023-24.

Jimmy Butler Shares His Mindset For The 2024-25 NBA Season

The new NBA preseason began with Butler’s return to the league. In a recent preseason game against the Charlotte Hornets, the Heat’s star scored 11 points, made two assists, and grabbed three rebounds in 16 minutes of play. Additionally, during a recent interview at Saturday’s practice session, Butler revealed his mentality for the 2024-25 NBA season.

“I want to play as many games as possible. I’ll leave it at that. I don’t need to put a number on the amount of games that I play. I know the more games that I play, the more opportunities that my squad has of winning,” Butler said (Via Miami Herald).

It will be truly captivating to observe how Butler’s presence on the court will impact the dynamics of the game and his team’s performance in the upcoming matches.
