Former Minnesota Vikings Star Adrian Peterson Has Multiple Warrants Out For His Arrest
But these days, Peterson’s remarkable legacy on the field has been tarnished by multiple incidents off of it. He was suspended in 2014 for child abuse after hitting his son with a tree branch. He owes millions in debt due to bad loans, and has turned to corny celebrity boxing matches to attempt to make some cash.
Now Peterson is back in the spotlight, and again it’s for negative off-field reasons. The 39-year-old has multiple warrants out for his arrest in Texas due to unpaid child support, according to Brent Schrotenboer of Yahoo Sports.
Adrian Peterson’s Publicist Claims Child Support Warrants Are Unnecessary
Peterson’s publicist claims the issue is simply a misunderstanding.
“The current legal case is related to a misunderstanding regarding Adrian’s court appearances as it relates to child support, and he is actively working with his legal team to resolve this matter as quickly as possible,” she told Yahoo Sports in a statement. “He is committed to clearing up this situation and moving forward positively.”
But judges in Texas don’t seem to see things the same way.
The cases were each filed in Texas by separate women from the state of Minnesota. In one, a judge signed a qualified domestic relations order Monday that would see the child receive a portion of Peterson’s NFL benefits for child support. Each warrant involved a cash bond. Both amounts were under $10,000.
