Connecticut Sun guard DiJonai Carrington announced a shift in her personal style Monday, revealing on Instagram that she’s abandoning her eyelash routine. The post, shared with her 397,000 followers, indicated she’s taking a break from fixing her eyelashes.
Carrington said she’s now seven weeks into the new approach, marking a significant departure from her previous routine. She had worn false lashes for seven consecutive years before making the change, and she praised herself for sticking to her decision.
“7 weeks, no lashes after 7 years straight with lashes. go meeeeee”
The Connecticut Sun guard has made a name for herself with her fashion sense, particularly with her pre-game outfits. One notable example was her ensemble before Game 3 of last season’s semifinals against the Minnesota Lynx, which featured a black cropped top, matching pants and heels.
DiJonai had a breakout 2024 season, earning WNBA Most Improved Player honors and a spot on the All-Defensive First Team. She averaged 12.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.
Carrington has given fans a glimpse into her personal life during the offseason. While they await her return to the court, she will participate in the inaugural Unrivaled tournament for team Mist, which tips off Jan. 17.
DiJonai Carrington reveals potential change to contact number
DiJonai Carrington hinted in an Instagram Story post on Monday that she may soon change her phone number. If she does, it would be her first time doing so since the second grade, she disclosed.
In the post, Carrington is shown holding a boxed iPhone in front of an Audi steering wheel. Her reason for considering a phone number change is unclear, but the presence of the boxed iPhone suggests she may have recently acquired a new device.
DiJonai made headlines for staying up late Monday to watch her girlfriend, NaLyssa Smith, play in a Chinese League game.
Carrington and Smith, an Indiana Fever forward, are navigating a long-distance relationship while Carrington participates in the Unrivaled tournament and Smith plays overseas during the offseason. She has spoken publicly about the challenges of their situation, sharing her thoughts in a post on X.
