Quincy Jones

The music world is in mourning following news of Quincy Jones’ passing at the age of 91 on Sunday.

The Chicago native passed away at his Los Angeles home surrounded by family. He reiterated his love for them in the days before his death, sharing a loving message to his daughter Martina.

Martina celebrated her 58th birthday on Friday, November 1, and Quincy marked the occasion by sharing a picture of the two smiling for the camera.

“Happy Birthday to my Tina Been! So proud to be yo papa! Big hug, I love you eternally.”

Jones shares Martina with ex-wife, Swedish model Ulla Andersson, along with son Quincy III, 55.

He was also father to Jolie, 69, who he shared with high school sweetheart, Jeri CaldwellJones was also father to Rachel, 59, who he shared with dancer Carol Reynolds, Kidada, 50, and Rashida, 48, with Peggy Lipton, and Kenya, 31, with German actress Natasssja Kinski.

Jones’ family spoke of his passing

“Tonight, with full but broken hearts, we must share the news of our father and brother Quincy Jones’ passing,” his family told People in a statement after his passing.

“And although this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great life that he lived and know there will never be another like him.”

Jones is also survived by his grandchildren: Isaiah Jones Koenig, Quincy Renzo, Delight Jones IV and Nea Jones.
