Notre Dame sophomore Hannah Hidalgo is making waves as one of the most exciting players in women’s basketball, yet she hasn’t received the same media attention as stars like JuJu Watkins and Paige Bueckers.

Basketball influencer Rachel DeMita recently spotlighted Hidalgo‘s incredible talent in a YouTube video titled “Is Hannah Hidalgo the #1 Player in The Country!?”

DeMita, impressed by Hidalgo‘s near triple-double performance in Notre Dame’s upset victory over UConn, praised her aggressive and dynamic style of play. Hidalgo posted an impressive 29 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists in the game, overshadowing Bueckers‘ 25-point effort.

“She is only a sophomore,” DeMita said, emphasizing Hidalgo‘s potential.

Hidalgo‘s star power shone again just weeks later in a marquee matchup against USC. In front of nearly 8,000 fans, she led Notre Dame to victory, delivering 24 points, six rebounds, and eight assists.

JuJu Watkins, USC’s standout sophomore, matched her scoring with 24 points, adding six rebounds and six assists, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the Trojans from suffering their first loss of the season.

Hidalgo‘s first-half dominance against USC set the tone, scoring 16 points before halftime and demonstrating her ability to perform under pressure. She had strong support from her backcourt partner, Olivia Miles, who contributed 20 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists.

Together, they showcased Notre Dame’s resilience as underdogs, handing both UConn and USC their first losses of the season.

Despite her remarkable performances, Hidalgo has not yet received the same level of attention as her peers. DeMita noted that Hidalgo‘s aggressive, exciting style of play mirrors what has helped stars like Caitlin Clark gain rapid fame.

There’s a conspiracy theory for just about everything, including bizarre ones relating to the highly publicized relationship between Grammy Award-winning singer Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

The three-time Super Bowl champion has been in a relationship with Taylor Swift for over a year. Their rumored romance was confirmed when Swift attended the Chiefs’ Week 3, 2023 home game against the Chicago Bears at Arrowhead Stadium.

Kelce’s romance with Swfit has been a giant win for the Chiefs and the NFL, too. She has brought plenty more attention to the NFL and contributed to the Chiefs’ skyrocketing popularity worldwide.

Naturally, conspiracy theorists believe the Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift romance is simply a marketing ploy to help the Chiefs and the league. But Chiefs president Mark Donovan finally addressed the ridiculous rumor during an appearance on NBC’s “Squawk Box” program:

“I’d love to say that it was a marketing strategy, but it is an authentic relationship. And we’re happy to have it, and it’s been nothing but good for us.
