Chicago Fire rookie forward Angel Reese is quickly becoming engrained into Chicago sports culture.

For the second straight week, Reese found herself on the sidelines of an NFL game. Last week, she was sporting a Ravens jersey at M&T Bank Stadium since she is a fan of the team and was born in the area.

This week, Angel Reese was at Soldier Field and turning heads as she sported a No. 5 jersey, which happens to be a retired jersey number for the team. It was most famously worn by Hall of Famer George McAfee, and Chicago retired his No. 5 jersey in 1955.

“Hey guys, it’s Angel Reese here. I’m at the Bears game today. Bear Down.”

The Bears play at home on Sunday vs. the Carolina Panthers.

Reese is coming off her first season with the Chicago Sky, during which she averaged a double-double of 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds.

The 22-year-old basketball star will return to action in January for the new Unrivaled League in Miami.

Angel Reese Went Public About Caleb Williams Friendship

The two newest young Chicago sports stars are Angel Reese and Caleb Williams.

Reese and Williams are both from the Maryland area and have known each other since they were children, Reese told NBC Sports Chicago.

The former LSU star told NBC Chicago earlier this year, “Yeah, me and Caleb are cool.”

Angel Reese added in the May 1 interview at Sky training camp, “One of my good friends are best friends with [Caleb] that are in my friend group. So we’re all from the DMV area.”

“Just being able to have another DMV tie, another amazing player … so we lit right now. We turning the city up right now,” she said. “[Caleb and I] talked after he got drafted. I don’t know when he’s gonna be here, but we’re all gonna hang out. My friend is coming down, and we’re all gonna hang out, cause we’re cool. So I’m excited.”

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield and his wife Emily have had to evacuate their home this week because of Hurricane Helene.

The hurricane hit northern Florida pretty hard, causing major flooding and power loss.

Mayfield, his wife Emily, their daughter, and their dog left their residence before the storm hit as a means of caution. Emily furnished her followers with an update on Friday.

“Baker, Koko, Fergus and I evacuated yesterday and are safe,” she said via Instagram. “Our sweet, sweet community got pummeled, but even that doesn’t compare to the people up North who took this storm head on. It’s unfathomable.”

Emily is grateful that Helene did not affect the Mayfield home but revealed she was “praying nonstop” for the people dealing with the impact while also offering tangible assistance.

“I am looking for ways to get out and tangibly help,” she added. “Please send me anything you find, and I will share the good ones.”
