Swift and Kelce are running into schedule issues

With the holiday season around the corner, fans of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have been curious if the couple will spend Thanksgiving together. But according to NFL mom Donna Kelce, a festive gathering may not be in the cards for the pop star and the Chiefs’ tight end this year.

Appearing on the Today show to share her beloved marshmallow crescent puffs recipe, Donna addressed the question everyone was asking: would Swift join the Kelce family for Thanksgiving? Her answer was a clear “no.” “I don’t think so. She’s kind of busy right now. She still has her tour to do,” Donna said, adding that the family’s holiday focus is always football.

For Travis Kelce, football season means working through holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas, juggling both the intense spotlight of being an NFL player and the commitments that come with it. This year is no different, as he is set to play the day after Thanksgiving. “Football is always the holidays,” Donna confirmed, implying that festive dinners are often secondary to the demands of the game.

On the flip side, Taylor Swift’s approach contrasts sharply with Travis’s demanding schedule. Known for meticulously planning her professional life, Swift ensures she is free during major holidays and doesn’t schedule concerts or performances during these times. It’s this balance that has allowed her to be more flexible, showing up at Kelce’s games and supporting him on the sidelines whenever possible.

The couple have remained strong despite busy schedules

Despite the tight schedules, the couple’s connection has remained strong. In earlier comments, Donna shared how surreal her son’s relationship with the global star has been, describing the sudden wave of attention as almost otherworldly. “It’s been a ride. Sometimes I feel I’m on some kind of a different planet,” she shared with People.

At the premiere of Grotesquerie in September, Travis’s new series, Donna spoke about the fun of getting to know Swift, noting that while their bond is “still new,” it’s been enjoyable. The relationship has continued to thrive publicly, with Swift recently cheering on Travis at Arrowhead Stadium during the November 10 game against the Denver Broncos.

In a 2023 Time interview, Swift confirmed her dedication to supporting Travis, even if it meant appearing at high-profile events. “We’re showing up for each other… The opposite of that is, you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone,” she said.

So, while this Thanksgiving may not include a shared holiday feast, the support between the football star and the music icon shows no signs of fading. Their shared moments may be fleeting, but they continue to embrace them amid the hustle of their very different worlds.
