Travis Kelce has broken his silence on his lackluster production to start the new season for the Kansas City Chiefs.

The star tight end is going through a notable slump. He has delivered the lowest output over any three-game stretch of his entire career, earning rife criticism from fans and analysts. Many suggest that the lively offseason he had with Taylor Swift could be to blame, with Kelce making just eight catches for 69 yards over a the aforementioned spell.

Kelce addressed the slump on the newest episode of his ‘New Heights’ podcast and explained that it’s just football.

“I’ve had a lot of catches in this league, man. I’m not worried about the catches and the yards, and all of that, I have the most fun when I get the ball thrown my way, I mean, who doesn’t?” he said.

“It has everything to do with execution and just making sure we’re doing everything we can to win these football games, that’s always going to be the goal. I think everyone saw my drop in the fourth quarter and the crucial third down, just trying to do too much before putting the ball away.”

Travis Kelce Doesn’t Think Heos Playing Like Trash

Kelce also attributed his slump to the way the Chiefs are being covered by opposing defenses this season.

“I think with how defenses are playing us right now, I’m not really getting a lot of opportunities to make plays down the field,” he said. “But not using that as an excuse. Moving forward, still trying to make sure I can help the team out in that regard knowing I’ve been that weapon for us in the past.”

The TE admitted that his most recent outing – Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons—was “trash.” But he later walked back on that comment, also seemingly looking to allay any fears over his condition.

“I’m playing winning football. It’s not trash,” he added. “But it could be better. Wish I played as good as I felt.”

Kelce will have a chance to bounce back from his slump when the Chiefs play the Los Angeles Chargers this Sunday, but he isn’t worried about potentially remaining in a rut.

“If it doesn’t [turn around], as long as we’re winning football games, we’re good to go, baby!” he remarked.

Former NFL Quarterback Brett Favre Lashes Out At Taylor Swift, Accuses Her Of Using Her “Influence” For Foul Reasons

Former NFL star quarterback Brett Favre has taken a swipe at pop sensation Taylor Swift for political reasons ahead of the upcoming 2024 presidential elections.

The 11-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro is known to be a supporter of former President Donald Trump and has previously endorsed him.

He’s since taken a shot at Swift, who recently endorsed Democratic candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris following Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes informing everyone that he wouldn’t endorse a candidate.

“Good take by Mahomes,” he wrote in a tweet.

“I see a lot of celebs trying to influence their audience instead of letting the people think for themselves. If the best choice for them ain’t clear and they’re easily swayed by their fav pop artist, it’s not going to be a good thing.”
