Perhaps Kayla Nicole would never have imagined that her appearance on the “Unapologetically Angel” podcast would take such emotional toll on her as it did on Tuesday night, when I was live on “I am athlete.”

Those words to Angel Reese in which she clarified that she did not split the bills with Travis Kelce during their relationship, which ended in 2022, weighed on her emotionally, as seen in this latest television appearance.

Kayla is clear that at first she didn’t think about everything that would happen next with her appearance on the WNBA star’s podcast.

“After the podcast came out, I thought I handled things gracefully,” she explained this Tuesday on “I Am Athlete,” Nicole said.

The influencer went on to explain to the two podcast hosts that she believed she made good decisions about the topics addressed on Angel Reese’s podcast.

“I think I answered the questions as best I could. The audience had their interpretation of things, I didn’t care,” Nicole said.

But Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend realized something wasn’t right when her mother called her in tears.

“My mom calls me, and it’s those conversations…that matter to me. She’s offended, she’s hurt by the way people treat her daughter on social media, she’s hurt with the negative headlines and in the way people are handling themselves,” Kayla said.

She also clarified the advice her mother had given her for the future.

“She told me, ‘Maybe next time don’t answer those questions.’ It’s that simple: don’t give it too much energy. You don’t have to answer every time,'” Nicole said.
