Kayla Nicole, the ex-girlfriend of Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, had something to get off her chest this Saturday. To the surprise of her Instagram followers, she wanted to talk about Bronny James and his rookie season in the NBA.

The Los Angeles Lakers selected Bronny with the 55th pick in this year’s draft. So far this season, he has been assigned to the South Bay Lakers several times. His latest stint in the G League has been his most successful one so far. Since Dec. 7, he’s been averaging 16.8 points per game on 41.3 percent shooting. The former USC guard is also averaging 1.2 steals per contest.

Clearly, Bronny’s play on the court has caught Kayla Nicole’s attention.

On Saturday afternoon, Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend posted a photo of Bronny on her Instagram Story along with this caption: “y’all ain’t talkin bout nothing.”

Nicole is most likely referring to the narrative that Bronny can’t play in the pros. The rookie has dealt with plenty of criticism this year strictly because he’s LeBron James’ son.

If Bronny can build off the run he’s been on in the G League, there’s a chance he’ll turn some of his doubters into believers. And if not, at least he’ll have Nicole’s support.

Bronny certainly has the potential to be a role player in the NBA. In order for that to happen though, he’ll have to overcome his fear of failing. At least that’s what Lakers coach JJ Redick said earlier this week.

“He’s got to get to the point where it’s okay to fail. I think he has a real reservation to fail,” Redick told reporters. “And I think a lot of that is, he’s had a camera on him since he was eight years old… He’s had attention on him. I’m cognizant of that. I think, once he develops that, he’s going to take off.”

Earlier this Saturday, Bronny participated in the 2024 G League Showcase. He had six points, seven assists and four rebounds for the South Bay Lakers.
