Baker Mayfield has responded to Tom Brady’s clapping back at his comments regarding the environment the former quarterback created in Tampa Bay, wisely deciding against continuing the back-and-forth.

The current Buccaneers quarterback claimed his comments were misinterpreted after he helped the NFC side to a 33-16 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, insisting he never meant to disrespect the seven-time Super Bowl winner.

“I think a lot of that got taken out of context, and none of it was personal by any means,” he told reporters, per NFL.com. “It’s just what he demanded of the guys, and that’s the aura of Tom Brady. And that’s what he did to bring a championship here.”

“Nothing personal, but yeah, talking before the game, he’s obviously happy for me and he knows the guys, so he knows how much I enjoy throwing to Mike [Evans] and Chris [Godwin] [because] he got to do the same. It’s fun to be able to talk about the same experience with a guy like that.”

Baker Mayfield Got Under Tom Brady’s Skin After He Compared The Two Of Them

Mayfield had made a guest appearance on the ‘Casa de Klub’ podcast, where he claimed Bucs players were “stressed out” with Brady on the roster.

“The building was a little bit different with Tom in there,” he remarked. “Obviously, playing-wise, Tom is different. He had everybody dialed in, high-strung environment, so I think everybody was pretty stressed out. … They wanted me to come in, be myself, bring the joy back to football, for guys who weren’t having as much fun.”

Brady took umbrage to the claims and addressed them while calling the game between the Bucs and Eagles for FOX on Sunday.

“I thought stressful was not having Super Bowl rings,” the first-year analyst offered. “There was a mindset of a champion that I took to work every day. This wasn’t daycare. If I wanted to have fun, I was going to go to Disneyland with my kids.”

Mayfield laughed when he was informed of Brady’s response.

“Like I said — some things got taken out of context,” he said. “He did it his own way and that’s why he has seven rings. So, not much else needs to be said.”

Everyone had the same observation and resulting joke after finding out Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola has a younger brother.

Said sibling is in the news this week, having committed to the Cornhuskers himself, and is expected to be part of the program’s 2026 recruitment class.

Dayton Railoa announced his commitment on Sunday night. He replaced his older brother as the starting QB at Georgia’s Buford High School following his departure for college and has led them to four wins from their first five outings.

Dayton’s commitment makes him the newest Raiola to be associated with the Huskers.

The boys’ father, Dominic Raiola, played for the school from 1997-2000 before going on to spend 14 years with the Detroit Lions in the NFL.
