Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes offered his first comments on the viral video of the Las Vegas Raiders mocking the three-time Super Bowl champion.

On Thursday, a video on social media circulated of the Raiders mocking Patrick Mahomes and his so-called “frog voice” with a Kermit the Frog puppet at a team practice. Rookie Trey Taylor held up a Kermit puppet (with a Mahomes jersey and a wig resembling his hair) as Raiders players laughed and imitated Mahomes’ voice:

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Mahomes got to break his silence on the viral video. The two-time league MVP stayed clear of trash talk but warned the Raiders, “It’ll get handled when it gets handled,” adding that he doesn’t need the Raiders “to send me anything to keep me motivated.”

A video of Mahomes comments’ can be seen below:

Patrick Mahomes has had his way with the Raiders since taking over as the Chiefs’ starting quarterback in 2018. Per Pro Football Reference, Mahomes is 10-2 against the Raiders with 30 touchdowns against only four interceptions.

The Raiders’ two wins against Mahomes both came at Arrowhead, in Week 5 of 2020 and Week 16 last year. Kansas City would bounce back after both losses, of course, reaching the Super Bowl in both seasons.

Kansas City and Las Vegas will square off for the first time in 2024 in Sin City on Oct. 27. The two teams will conclude their season series with a Black Friday showdown at Arrowhead Stadium on Nov. 29.

Raiders Should’t Poke Patrick Mahomes

With all due respect to the Raiders, it’s not a good idea to taunt Patrick Mahomes or Kansas City under any circumstance. Remember the Cincinnati Bengals’ “Burrow-head” saga with Joe Burrow? That sure didn’t work out.

Mahomes is the best player on the planet by a country mile. He may not engage in much trash talk, but he’ll surely have this Kermit the Frog thing in the back of his mind when the Chiefs and Raiders meet in three month.
