A college football coach got himself ready for his team’s biggest game of the season by chugging a beer on live TV. Tim Beck, the Coastal Carolina head coach, lived up to his eccentric reputation ahead of the Chanticleers’ showdown with Appalachian State on Thursday, downing a lager while live on ESPN.

Beck took over the program before the 2023 season and is now known for having one of the most exciting personalities in college football, and it must be a huge draw when it comes to recruitment.

The Coastal Carolina head coach worked as an offensive coordinator at Nebraska, Ohio State, Texas, and North Carolina State before he was offered the job.

The move didn’t seem like such a big splash at the time, but once he got behind a podium, it was clear that the Chanticleers had a character on their hands.

He joined ESPN for the pregame show, with students coming out in full force as they encouraged him to chug a cold one, which he did alongside ESPN’s Dan Mullen and Matt Barrie.

Tim Beck Hoping To Coach Coastal Carolina To Another Bowl Game

The Chanticleers enjoyed a 38-24 win on the day, which saw them improve to 5-4 for the season.

Tim Beck’s first term in charge ended 8-5, with quarterback Grayson McCall playing out of his mind. The QB has since retired following a transfer to NC State, having suffered a concussion on top of several other injuries.

Coastal Carolina hasn’t done quite as well this season, but they’ve got some momentum following Thursday’s massive win and will hope to capitalize on it moving forward. They are now one win away from bowl eligibility.

Nick Bosa may have landed himself in hot water with the NFL following his actions after the San Francisco 49ers beat the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night.

The Niners enjoyed a 30-24 win over Dallas in the ‘SNF’ fixture. Quarterback Brock Purdy had a stellar game, completing 18 of 26 passing attempts for 260 yards and a touchdown while showing some surprising athleticism as a scrambler.

Bosa also had an impressive outing as he made life pretty difficult for the Cowboys offensive line, also making three tackles, a sack, and two QB hits.

After the game, he popped up behind Purdy while the QB was being interviewed and pointed to his “Make America Great Again” hat before running toward the locker room.
