Cleveland Browns quarterback Jameis Winston had the game of his life on Monday Night Football for good and bad reasons.
Winston had 497 passing yards and four touchdowns for the Browns. But he also tossed three interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns to give the Denver Broncos 14 points.
It was the full Jameis experience.
Jamies Winston’s first interception against the Broncos came in the second quarter. The pass intended for tight end Jordan Akins landed in the hands of edge rusher Nik Bonitto, who returned it 71 yards, giving Denver a 21-10 lead.
His second one basically ended the game when Broncos cornerback Ja’Quan McMillian leaped to jump Elijah Moore’s route as he got up and ran 44 yards for another touchdown. Cleveland was down 34-32 at the time.
After Monday’s game, which saw Jameis Winston throw for 497 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions, including two returned by Denver for scores, the Browns quarterback knew what his next prayers would be.
“Yeah, I am a better player [than his performance],” Winston said. “It’s an opportunity to continue to glorify the Lord even through the toughest circumstances. I know I’m better than this.”
Jamies Winston then delivered the quote of the year, “I’m just praying to the Lord to deliver me from pick-sixes.”
Winston’s final pass of the night ended with Broncos linebacker Cody Barton nearly taking his pass from the end zone all the way back.
The turnovers marred a prolific night for Cleveland’s offense, which set a season-high in scoring.
Jameis Winston Sets Franchise Record in Passing Yards
You heard about the bad from Winston, but he also had his moment of brilliance.
Winston cemented himself in Browns’ history on Monday as he totaled 497 passing yards against the Broncos.
His dynamic game saw him set the franchise single-game record for the Browns, passing Josh McCown’s 457 passing yards in 2015.
Jameis Winston finished with 497 passing yards and also set a career-high.

There’s a conspiracy theory for just about everything, including bizarre ones relating to the highly publicized relationship between Grammy Award-winning singer Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
The three-time Super Bowl champion has been in a relationship with Taylor Swift for over a year. Their rumored romance was confirmed when Swift attended the Chiefs’ Week 3, 2023 home game against the Chicago Bears at Arrowhead Stadium.
Kelce’s romance with Swfit has been a giant win for the Chiefs and the NFL, too. She has brought plenty more attention to the NFL and contributed to the Chiefs’ skyrocketing popularity worldwide.
Naturally, conspiracy theorists believe the Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift romance is simply a marketing ploy to help the Chiefs and the league. But Chiefs president Mark Donovan finally addressed the ridiculous rumor during an appearance on NBC’s “Squawk Box” program:
“I’d love to say that it was a marketing strategy, but it is an authentic relationship. And we’re happy to have it, and it’s been nothing but good for us.
I think the best thing I can say about the whole relationship and the impact it’s had on us is, Taylor Swift is an authentic member of the Kansas City Chiefs kingdom. She’s an authentic fan and that matters to our fans and our fan base and to matters to us and we try to respect that.”
