The Boston Celtics kicked off the new season on a high note after winning their 18th NBA title. In a strong preseason showing, Jayson Tatum and his team defeated the Denver Nuggets, advancing to a 2-0 record. This victory was lovely, as the Celtics had lost both regular-season matchups against the Nuggets last year.
After the back-to-back wins, Tatum appeared well at a recent press conference alongside teammate Derrick White. However, the lighthearted atmosphere turned unexpectedly when a reporter asked Tatum if he was wearing a fake or a kid’s watch. Both Tatum and White were visibly shocked by the offbeat question and couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
A reporter asked Jayson Tatum if his watch was real, saying it looked like a kid’s watch.
Tatum: “That was crazy” 😭🤣

Tatum’s reaction was especially memorable, as the reporter mistook his extravagant watch for a kid’s watch. In response to the surprising query, he chuckled and replied, “That’s crazy.” The question quickly became a humorous highlight of the press conference.
Jayson Tatum Focuses on Team Success While Aiming for MVP Recognition
Despite his remarkable performance last season, Jayson Tatum fell short of winning MVP in both the Eastern Conference and the NBA Finals. As the new season approaches, questions about his motivation to chase individual accolades resurfaced during a recent press conference.
When asked about his drive for an MVP title this season, Tatum shared the importance of setting personal goals while keeping team success in mind.
“Everybody should have individual goals. We’re all mature enough and know what it’s like to have team success; nothing gets in the way of what we’re trying to accomplish. Whether guys wanna make an All-Defensive team, All-Star, or be MVP, you should be able to go after that. It means you’re having a hell of a year,” Tatum said.
“I’m not chasing MVP if it’s costing us games, but if I’m in that conversation, it means we’re one of the best teams, I’m playing the right way, and everybody on the team is having success, and we’re going the right path,” he added.
The Celtics’ next preseason game will be on October 13, against the Philadelphia 76ers. Fans are eager to see how Tatum balances his aspirations with the Celtics’ quest for another championship.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield and his wife Emily have had to evacuate their home this week because of Hurricane Helene.
The hurricane hit northern Florida pretty hard, causing major flooding and power loss.
Mayfield, his wife Emily, their daughter, and their dog left their residence before the storm hit as a means of caution. Emily furnished her followers with an update on Friday.
“Baker, Koko, Fergus and I evacuated yesterday and are safe,” she said via Instagram. “Our sweet, sweet community got pummeled, but even that doesn’t compare to the people up North who took this storm head on. It’s unfathomable.”
Emily is grateful that Helene did not affect the Mayfield home but revealed she was “praying nonstop” for the people dealing with the impact while also offering tangible assistance.
“I am looking for ways to get out and tangibly help,” she added. “Please send me anything you find, and I will share the good ones.”
