Klay Thompson delivered a season-high performance to lead the Dallas Mavericks to a thrilling 143-133 win over the Golden State Warriors. This was Thompson’s second matchup against his former team this season, making the victory even more meaningful.
The Warriors had taken the first game, but this time, Thompson got revenge on his old home court. The game was a notable chapter in Thompson’s journey as he squared off against his former “Splash Brother,” Stephen Curry, and the team he spent all of his storied career with.
Following the game, Thompson shared a touching moment during his Bay Area return. When asked how he spent his day off before the game, the sharpshooter reflected on revisiting the place that holds so many memories for him.
“Went and drove by my old neighborhood. Went to my friend’s house in Oakland. Drove by Oracle. Drove by downtown Oakland… To see The City and The Town, it’s always special.”

“Went and drove by my old neighborhood. Went to my friend’s house in Oakland. Drove by Oracle. Drove by downtown Oakland. To see The City and The Town, it’s always special, and so many good memories here,” Thompson said in the press conference.
Klay Thompson Reflects on Emotional Game Against Former Team
In the post-game press conference, Klay Thompson reflected on what it meant to play against his former team for the second time this season. This matchup felt different for the four-time NBA champion, who spent over a decade with the Warriors.
“It was way easier this time. Especially not seeing the captain’s hats. I just took a moment for myself on the court. I spent so many days here, even when I couldn’t play. I’ve worked hard to get back to feeling like this, and I owed myself that second to soak it in,” Thompson said.
Thompson delivered a standout performance on Sunday, scoring a season-high 29 points in the Dallas Mavericks’ 143-133 victory over the Golden State Warriors. Thompson also contributed five rebounds and four assists, shooting an efficient 9-of-14 from the field and 7-of-11 from three-point range.

There’s a conspiracy theory for just about everything, including bizarre ones relating to the highly publicized relationship between Grammy Award-winning singer Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
The three-time Super Bowl champion has been in a relationship with Taylor Swift for over a year. Their rumored romance was confirmed when Swift attended the Chiefs’ Week 3, 2023 home game against the Chicago Bears at Arrowhead Stadium.
Kelce’s romance with Swfit has been a giant win for the Chiefs and the NFL, too. She has brought plenty more attention to the NFL and contributed to the Chiefs’ skyrocketing popularity worldwide.
Naturally, conspiracy theorists believe the Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift romance is simply a marketing ploy to help the Chiefs and the league. But Chiefs president Mark Donovan finally addressed the ridiculous rumor during an appearance on NBC’s “Squawk Box” program:
“I’d love to say that it was a marketing strategy, but it is an authentic relationship. And we’re happy to have it, and it’s been nothing but good for us.
I think the best thing I can say about the whole relationship and the impact it’s had on us is, Taylor Swift is an authentic member of the Kansas City Chiefs kingdom. She’s an authentic fan and that matters to our fans and our fan base and to matters to us and we try to respect that.”
