The Oklahoma City Thunder started the season strong, boasting an impressive record of 8-1. However, after their recent 116-127 loss to the Golden State Warriors, their record now stands at 8-2. This loss was further compounded by a significant incident involving Chet Holmgren during the game, which stunned every Thunder fan.
Just five minutes into the game, Thunder center Holmgren fell awkwardly while attempting to make a block. He was promptly taken to the Thunder locker room. Later, it was announced that Holmgren had been diagnosed with a right iliac hip fracture.
A recent, disturbing slow-motion video of the incident has surfaced on the internet, leaving supporters devastated. In the clip, Holmgren falls hard onto his hip. After watching the footage, many fans began to pray for the Thunder Center, as the situation did not look good.

Chet Holmgren Discusses His Feelings After Enduring A Tough Injury
The Thunder selected Holmgren with the second overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. Unfortunately, he missed his first season due to a Lisfranc injury in his foot, which occurred during a Pro-Am game. However, he made a successful return for the 2023-24 NBA season. During his rookie season, Holmgren averaged 16.5 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 2.4 assists over the course of 82 games.
While reflecting on his past experience with a similar injury during the 2022-23 NBA season, Holmgren shared his thoughts about his current situation. The Center noted that he knows how to handle this condition based on what he learned from his previous injury. However, he also expressed his frustration with the recovery process.
“Most of all I’m hurt I can’t help my teammates and play for our fans and supporters for a while. Everyone who sticks with me and our team, along with my need for hoops, is a big part of my passion to return. Don’t pity me or feel bad, there’s lots of people out there rn with real problems that don’t heal. Anyways excuse my rambling just wanted to address our okc fans and family. Thoughts from da hospital bed” Holmgren wrote in his latest post on X.
Supporters are hopeful that Holmgren’s injury is not severe and that he will recover swiftly so he can return to the court.
