Former Minnesota Timberwolves star and former NBA coach Sam Mitchell brought some unexpected humor to NBA TV on Friday night in NBA Gametime Live.
During a segment previewing various preseason games, Mitchell playfully clashed with his co-host, Chris Miles, in a lively exchange.
The conversation started on a light note, with Miles pointing out that Warriors coach Steve Kerr wasn’t awarded a gold medal for leading Team USA to victory at the Paris Olympics. Miles then shifted the focus, making a joke about their salaries.
“I’m surprised coaches get a paycheck for this show! Maybe you should do it pro bono, my friend!” Miles said.
Mitchell wasn’t one to let the remarks slide. The exchange heated up when he mentioned Miles’ rental properties, hinting that Miles had made money from a beach house during a hurricane.

“Did you rent your beach house in Florida out during the hurricane? How about your townhouse? You wanna call me out? I know what you have and where you live, young fella!” Mitchell said.
“You gonna stop messing with me on national TV! Do I need to give out the address because you’re not at home right now?” In a bold move, Mitchell revealed the address of Miles’ rental property: “____ ____ ____, Sandestin, Florida!” he added.
