WNBA legend Renee Montgomery reacted to the UConn Huskies star Paige Bueckers choosing Sue Bird over her in a comparison. Montgomery expressed her reaction on an X, formerly Twitter, post.

She reposted the video where Bueckers took Bird’s side and accompanied the caption with her thoughts.

“Paige gave me the L,” she tweeted on Friday.

The video the WNBA icon shared featured Bueckers’ interview with “On Her Turf.” In the video, the Huskies star was asked to choose a winner from UConn alums paired together for a 1v1. The interviewer paired Montgomery with Bird, making it a difficult choice for Bueckers.

“Dang Renne’s fast, Sue is smart. I’mma just say Sue,” Bueckers said.

The Huskies star was also asked who would win between Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart and Maya Moore and Diana Taurasi. Bueckers took a while to give her opinion on the Collier-Stewart matchup but quickly dismissed the Moore-Taurasi matchup.

“I’mma say Stewie,” she said. “I love Phee. Gosh, that’s impossible.”

“Diana don’t like to play defense so I’mma say Maya.”

Buekcers is playing her fourth season with the UConn Huskies in the NCAA Tournament. She is expected to declare for the 2025 WNBA Draft and get drafted as the first pick.

WNBA icon Sue Bird points out one big flaw in Paige Bueckers’ game

WNBA icon Sue Bird pointed out one major flaw in Paige Bueckers’ game. The former Seattle Storm star shared her thoughts on Bueckers on the Dec. 4 episode of her podcast “A Touch More”. Bird co-hosts the podcast with her partner and former professional soccer player Megan Rapione.

Bird pointed out that one stat is holding Bueckers back despite her incredible shooting efficiency.

“You can’t talk about UConn without talking about Paige [Bueckers],” she said. “You can’t talk about Paige without talking about her efficiency right now. It’s insane. She’s shooting 62% from two, 46.0% from 3 and 83% from the free throw line … Her free throws are messing up her 50/40/90 [split].” (23:25)

Bueckers is having a great run with the Huskies this season. She is averaging 20.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game. She is shooting 58.4% from the field and 44.2% from the 3-point range. However, her free-throw percentage has dwindled.

In her freshman season, she shot 86.9% from the charity line. This season, she is shooting 80.0% from the same spot. Although the dip in her free throw stat is noticeable, it should not pose problems if she declares for the 2025 draft.

Phoenix Suns Shock Everybody By Sending Superstar Kevin Durant To NBA Heavyweight In Blockbuster Trade Proposal

A blockbuster trade proposal has the Phoenix Suns setting off fireworks across the NBA by dealing superstar Kevin Durant to a Western Conference juggernaut.

There’s no indication that the Suns are open to dealing Kevin Durant, or that the future Hall of Famer wants out. But the fact remains that Phoenix has one playoff series win in the KD era, and at 12-8 through 20 games, they don’t exactly resemble a championship contender.

If the Suns decide to shake up their All-Star core, Durant has to be the odd man out. Devin Booker isn’t going anywhere, and veteran guard Bradley Beal might have the most untradeable contract in the NBA.

Eddie Bitar of Fadeaway World proposed a mammoth trade idea that has Phoenix sending Kevin Durant back to the Golden State Warriors in exchange for Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga, Gary Payton II, De’Anthony Melton and first-round picks in 2026 and 2029:

“The chemistry between Durant and Curry is unmatched, with the two feeding off each other’s strengths to devastate opposing defenses. If Durant’s time in Phoenix shows signs of stagnating, he could be motivated to initiate a trade to the Warriors—a team he knows will be ready to compete the moment he steps on the floor…

Most importantly, Durant’s departure could also allow Booker to further solidify his role as the franchise player, with Beal supporting him as an experienced scorer who has made the playoffs multiple times. The return for Durant would bring in a mix of young talent and future draft picks, potentially giving the Suns a balanced roster that can grow and adapt as Booker and Beal enter their prime. “
