And she dominated in her rookie season. Reese’s elite rebounding immediately put her in the Sky’s rotation as she finished her rookie season atop several all-time league leaderboards. She finished with 446 rebounds, the most by any player in a single year ever, with an average of 13.1 per game.

Reese’s understanding of positioning and floor spacing is just part of what makes her such a unique player (…) She has a tremendous understanding of how to place herself on the court to grab any ball on the offensive or defensive glass.” a Chicago Sky report states.

Off the court, the Maryland native has also shined, whereas is modeling for multiple magazines, investing in women’s soccer, getting an extended deal with Reebok or starting her own and very succesful podcast “Unapologetically Angel”.

Angel Reese says that she wants to get married

On one of her most recent episodes, Angel Reese had rapper sensation S3xyy Red on and they talked about making it in the music industry, fashion, their humble beginnings and also about love, men that are not faithful and marriage.

Reese asked Red if she believes that one day she’s going to get married. “I would get married but I feel like is fake.” the rapper said. The answer took Angel by surprise as she was genuinely shocked, so she asked her guest to elaborate.

“It ain’t real.” Red replied, to which Reese answered by saying that she does want to get married. The rapper said that even if two people sign a piece of paper that does not prevent the man from cheating on his significant other.

“That’s why you find a good man.” said Reese, but she got push back from her guest who said that “all men cheat”. “That’s not true, why you say that.” the WNBA player continued, adding that even though she knows men that cheat, it doesn’t mean that all of them do.

“I ain’t got no hope for men. Because once I meet someone that seems faithful but cheats, then all these men cheat.” Red stated.

The rapper went on to say that she’s not closed to meeting someone but right now she’s not entertaining that idea, even though she has gone on dates before. She does keep that part of her life private, Red added.

Angel Reese, a WNBA star for the Chicago Sky, stands at the intersection of talent and legacy. Growing up in Baltimore, she inherited a deep basketball tradition from her parents, Angel Webb and Michael Reese.

While her journey to the professional stage reflects her skills, it also highlights the influence of her family and the lessons she’s learned along the way.

Basketball is in Reese’s blood

Basketball was more than a pastime for the Reese family-it was a way of life. Both Angel Webb and Michael Reese played college basketball, setting the stage for their daughter’s athletic career.

Reese, however, credits her mother for raising her and her younger brother, Julian, as a single parent after her parents separated when she was young.

Despite a distant relationship with her father, Reese acknowledges the influence of his side of the family. In a recent TikTok live, she shared a personal detail about her heritage, revealing her grandmother’s Native American roots.

“My dad and my grandma said it’s actually Indian…she’s part-, half-, something Indian,” Reese explained.

While Reese wasn’t close to her father, her maternal grandparents, Curtis and Barbara Webb, played a pivotal role in her upbringing. Her grandmother’s advice helped Reese embrace her uniqueness, especially during moments of insecurity.

“You stand out for a reason,” Barbara reminded her when she felt awkward about being the tallest girl in class.

Interestingly, Michael Reese echoed similar wisdom in The Baltimore Sun.

“When you wear your emotions on your sleeve, you leave yourself open to all kinds of stuff,” Reese told The Baltimore Sun.

Though Michael’s basketball aspirations didn’t pan out as hoped, he recognized the importance of channeling passion into productive outlets-an ethos Reese seems to embody in her career.
