The college football world has changed quite a bit over the last few years. It started with the introduction of NIL, and that has led us to where we’re at now with the rise of the transfer portal era.
Every year, it seems like an overwhelming number of superstar college football players are entering the transfer portal, looking for an opportunity to join a new school that can offer them more money and playing time. This has led to some players playing for multiple programs over the course of their college football careers.
That brings us to Bear Alexander.
The 22-year-old defensive lineman began his college career at the University of Georgia in 2022, winning a national title with the Bulldogs while recording a sack in the championship game against TCU.
In 2023, Alexander moved out west to join the USC Trojans, where he would remain for a year-and-a-half, before deciding in September 2024 that he was going to redshirt the rest of the season and enter the transfer portal.
That brings us to where we’re at now, as Bear Alexander appears to be headed to his third college football program after announcing his intentions to join Penn State for 2025. He even posed for a photo in his new uniform, and the result has unintentionally gone viral after many people on social media noticed that it depicts everything that’s wrong with college football right now.
In the photo, Alexander is wearing the Nittany Lions uniform while flexing and showing off his Georgia tattoo on his right bicep. And in the corner, there’s an Instagram profile pic of Alexander wearing his USC uniform.
Three different schools. One viral photo.

Fans Had Plenty To Say About Bear Alexander’s Photo
Needless to say, this odd mix of elite football programs in one pic didn’t go unnoticed on social media.
“Gotta love the USC profile pic, in the Penn state locker room, posing with his Georgia tattoo,” one fan said on X.
“The Modern Day transfer portal,” joked another.
Someone even did their own research and noticed that Bear Alexander went to four high schools, on top of his three universities.
That was clearly a “red flag” for some.
Like it or not, we are clearly in a new era of college football that’s not like anything we’ve ever seen before. And it doesn’t look like that’ll change anytime soon.
VIDEO: Troy Aikman Noticed Something About Caleb Williams During ‘Monday Night Football’ That Should Have Every Chicago Bears Fan Worried Right Now
ESPN’s Troy Aikman made an observation about rookie quarterback Caleb Williams that should have every Chicago Bears fan worried.
The Bears lost to the Minnesota Vikings 12-30 on Monday night, with the rookie having another rough outing that saw him get sacked three more times to take his total to 59.
He didn’t look like a player who could take much more when he went to the bench early in the fourth quarter, showing off some concerning body language to prompt some worry from Aikman.
“I was 0-11 as a starter and he’s had a much better rookie season than I had,” the commentator said. “He was grimacing and in an enormous amount of pain. When you watch him, you can tell that he’s a defeated guy.”
