Lakers Star Anthony Davis Doesn’t Hold Back His Thoughts On The 2025 NBA All-Star Format

The NBA has once again taken a creative leap, announcing significant changes to the format of the 2025 All-Star Game. This year, the traditional showcase of the league’s best talent will feature three teams of eight players each, deviating from the long-standing two-team format. With 12 All-Stars selected from each conference, this new setup aims to create a more dynamic and competitive atmosphere.
Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant recently voiced his disapproval, stating that the adjustments might diminish the simplicity and excitement of the All-Star tradition. Agreeing with Durant, Los Angeles Lakers star center Anthony Davis joined the conversation, sharing his candid thoughts.
“I don’t know. I don’t really like it. We’ll see how it goes this year and see if they change that or not. I think they can go back to East vs. West but four teams and multiple games, I don’t think a lot of players are gonna like that, personally. But we’ll see,” Davis said to the reporters.
The league’s decision has sparked widespread debate. While some appreciate the NBA’s willingness to innovate, others are less convinced about the effectiveness of the new format.
Anthony Davis Highlights Importance Of Rest And Game Prep For Kings Match
The Los Angeles Lakers recently secured a 116-110 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies. Their next challenge comes on Thursday when they face the Sacramento Kings. Following Wednesday’s practice, Anthony Davis, who recently shared stuff LeBron James is dealing with, shared that the time off has been beneficial for both him and the team to rest and focus on practice.
“Yeah, it was good. Anytime you get a chance to practice and clean some things up on both ends of the floor, it’s good for us. Having a couple days off, guys letting their bodies heal, and now getting ready to face a team that’s not the team that people think they are as far as standings and record, they’re a much better team obviously they’ve been competitive in the past three or four years. We gotta come out and be ready to play. Going over some gameplan things, but having some practice time has been good for us,” Davis said.
The Lakers are now 14-12 in the season, sitting tenth in the Western conference. Davis is averaging 27.8 points, 11.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game this season.

On Wednesday morning, Ishbia announced that the Phoenix Suns were drastically reducing their concession prices to make game experiences more affordable for families. Hot dogs, 16oz water bottles, 16oz fountain soda, bags of chips and bags of popcorn will now each cost just $2 for every Suns home game.
Each of these items was previously in the $6.50 to $9 range, with hot dogs alone costing $9. In a follow-up post on X, Ishbia wrote, “Our fans and community are the foundation of what we do and we will continue to invest in making this the best organization in all of basketball, on and off the court.”
