Despite the news and rumors of Reynolds and Snipes not being on good terms, it was after all the Deadpool star who made his cameo possible. In the latest interview with Variety, director Shawn Levy revealed how,

Wesley’s return as Blade was a very early idea of Ryan’s. We wanted to explore themes of legacy, characters and their endings. Ryan had said, ‘Blade never really got that moment, and I think people don’t even realize how much they miss Wesley Snipes as Blade until they see him. Let’s give them that feeling.’

So it was Ryan Reynolds who reached out to Snipes first and clarified that his cameo was not a joke but a nod to his legacy as Blade. And fans are appreciative and happy to see Blade back!
