Duplantis, the reigning Olympic and world champion, secured gold by jumping six metres.

But that was just the start of a memorable evening in France, as Duplantis beat his previous record by a centimetre to secure his place as the best pole vaulter in history.

His celebrations matched his achievements as Duplantis ran over to the stands and planted a huge kiss on model girlfriend Desire Inglander.

The 24-year-old then hugged his brother Antoine before the pair exchanged punches, with Duplantis repeatedly hitting his brother in the chest.

He did not step there either as he return to the track to unveil another iconic celebration.

Mimicking viral Olympic shooter silver medalist Yusuf Dikec, Duplantis held out his fingers in the shape of a gun as he posed for the camera.

While he posed with a noticeable bulge in his shorts in a nod to Anthony Ammirati’s manhood costing him a place in the final.

Duplantis also did a lap of the track with a Sweden flag draped around his shoulders.

The Olympic Games arrive at the “City of Love

Nearly 15,000 residents – around 10,500 of which are athletes – will be cramming into the Olympic village between July 26 and August 11.

To ensure the athletes feel at home, a number of provisions have been made by organisers.

One of these is the stocking of some 300,000 condoms, in theory enough for around two every day during the run of the Games.

A number of Olympic athletes have opened the door on their steamy lives behind-the-scenes when in camp, including huge sex orgies and parties.

London 2012 had claimed the title of “the raunchiest Games ever”, but the 150,000 condoms ordered paled in comparison to the 450,000 ordered for the Rio Games four years later.

Condoms have been laid on by organisers at every game since Seoul 1988, when it they were used to spread awareness of HIV and AIDS.

Even with an intimacy ban at Tokyo 2020 due to Covid-19, some 150,000 johnnies were handed out.

After winning bakc-to-ack Olympic gold Duplantis praised the atmosphere inside the stadium, saying: “I haven’t processed how fantastic that moment was.

“It’s one of those things that doesn’t really feel real, such an out of body experience.

“The biggest dream since I was a kid was to break the world record at the Olympics.

“And I’ve been able to do that in front of the most ridiculous crowd I’ve ever competed in front of.

“I felt really prepared. I’ve never been so locked in my life than in these past three months. Now I´m just ready to eat a bunch of food. The party is going to be pretty big.”
