As if Caitlin Clark needed anything more to cap off an incredible 2024, the Rookie of the Year was named TIME’s Athlete of the Year, joining the club of legends like LeBron James, Simone Biles and Lionel Messi. At just 22 years old, Clark is the youngest person ever to receive the honor. She brought millions of new fans to the WNBA and women’s basketball thanks to her outstanding collegiate career at the University of Iowa. There, she became the all-time leading scorer in NCAA Division I basketball (men’s and women’s), was a two-time national player of the year, and led her team to back-to-back Finals before falling in both games.

The WNBA experienced record-breaking numbers in TV ratings, merchandise sales, sold out arenas and many other positive metrics, largely due to Caitlin Clark’s influence. From the night of the draft – which became the most-watched in WNBA history – it was clear that her success and fame were inevitable. Yet, Clark has always remained humble while delivering a stellar performance on the court. Her incredible performance would only have been better if she had been at the Paris Olympics, where she would have won the gold medal, but she will certainly get it in Los Angeles in 2028, where she may even be the flag-bearer.

Taylor Swift Sends Caitlin Clark Special Eras Tour Gifts

In the TIME article celebrating Caitlin Clark, there’s a part where they mention that Taylor Swift, who won Person of the Year for the same magazine in 2023, gave Clark four bags of Eras Tour merchandise along with a note saying Clark was inspiring to watch. Swift also wrote that “Trav and I” were looking forward to attending a Fever game – although that won’t happen until next season, now that her record-breaking tour is over – and invited Clark to a Chiefs game. Since Clark is a longtime Chiefs fan, there’s a chance she might attend some playoff games to see if they can secure the first three-peat in NFL history.

Clark attended back-to-back Taylor Swift shows at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indiana because she is also a Taylor fan. Unintentionally, she was a fan of both Taylor and the Chiefs long before they became the most popular celebrity couple. At concerts, fans would notice Clark sitting in a suite, and many would turn around to snap pictures or toss her friendship bracelets. “People are just going crazy that I’m there,” Clark said. “I thought people would be so in their own world, ready to see Taylor. And it was just completely the opposite.” Her humble and genuine character continues to make Clark an incredibly relatable role model, especially for young athletes who aspire to reach the professional level.

As for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, who are likely to invite Caitlin Clark to the Chiefs’ suite, Swift has just wrapped up her record-breaking “Eras Tour,” which kicked off in Arizona on March 17 of last year. Spanning more than 50 cities on five continents, the tour featured more than 145 performances, with each show averaging three hours. The tour left an indelible mark on the music industry, with Swift reaching the unprecedented milestone of grossing $2 billion, making it the highest-grossing tour of all time.

As for Travis and his quest for the first three-peat, he and the Chiefs take on the Cleveland Browns this week in what looks like an easy win on paper. After that, the road gets tougher. The Chiefs close out the season with two tough road games: the highly anticipated Christmas Day matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers and the season finale at Denver. Their only remaining home game is against the Houston Texans on Saturday, December 21. Maybe we’ll see Caitlin and Taylor together in the suite cheering on Travis and the Chiefs.

Indiana Fever’sCaitlin Clark wants to take her team to new heights for the 2025 season after a very impressive 2024, when the Fever returned to the playoffs (they lost to the Connecticut Sun in the first round).

The Fever caused sensation last season with their play on the court, with Clark setting numerous records on her way to winning Rookie of the Year honors and joining teammates Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell as All-Stars.

Caitlin Clark shines in first workout with new Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White

With Indiana basketball legend Stephanie White returning home to take over the reins as Fever head coach this season, the team have aspirations of hanging more banners in Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Meanwhile, the future looks bright and we got a little piece of what’s gonna look like with the Fever’s first workout with White as their leader. The trainning session was intense and Clark shone with her massive talent, her insane dribbling skills and her superb shooting.

Indiana is gonna need all of that and more for her season opener when they host the Chicago Sky on Saturday, May 17. The Fever and Sky had the league’s two most compelling rookies last season in Clark and Chicago forward Angel Reese, both of whom had record-setting rookie seasons.

Clark set a WNBA record for assists in a single season and also led the league in 3-pointers made. Reese, meanwhile, broke the league’s rebounding record. Both were All-Stars and though Clark ultimately ran away with Rookie of the Year honors, Reese finished second in the voting.
