The Design and Powers Of Nui Nui no Mi
Eaten By Leo of the Tontatta Tribe

Devil Fruit Classification: Paramecia
The Nui Nui no Mi is a Paramecia type of Devil Fruit that belongs to Leo, a very important One Piece character, especially because he’s a member of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet as well. Leo was extremely important in the Dressrosa arc of One Piece, as the representative of the Tontatta tribe, which have, over the years, been subjugated to horrendous abuse by the Donquixote family. Fans could clearly see Leo being a user of Devil Fruit powers in the Dressrosa arc. Although he had no idea about what a Devil Fruit truly was, Leo still was able to utilize incredible powers. Fans could see him sew things together as if it were not steel. This ability of his has finally been revealed by Oda and the design of this Paramecia Devil Fruit is certainly very interesting. The Devil Fruit resembles an orange in terms of its shape. Only, this fruit has many splits, each in a different color. The split parts of the orange seem to be soon together using the thread power of the Devil Fruit itself, with a giant sewing pin through the top, piercing its bottom.

In a way, this Devil Fruit almost looks like a ball with stitches all over it. Clearly, this is quite a clever design, as not only does it show the sewing pin, but it also incorporates the thread in a very clever manner. This Devil Fruit is multicolored, with some patches being purple, others being orange, and pink being thrown into the mix as well. This is certainly exciting information for the fans, especially because this Devil Fruit was not given enough attention in the actual manga. In fact, this Devil Fruit was not even named in the manga, and only In supplementary materials was more information provided about it. At the same time, fans also got to see its design now, which completes this fruit.

Powers Of The Fruit
leo one piece
The powers of the Nui Nui no Mi are certainly exciting. As is clear from it being a Paramecia ability, it can, in fact, stitch things in its surroundings. The Nui Nui no Mi allows Leo to sew anything together. He can use his needle on animate and inanimate objects alike, and sew even the hardest of things. He can even sew humans, as was seen when he did it to Robin in the Dressrosa arc. The strengths of his fruit appear to be quite impressive. This is clear from the fact that Robin was not able to break free from his threads, and neither were many other individuals who fell prey to its powers.

With this magic, I can sew everything together! – Leo

Leo was seen using this power on battleships as well in the Dressrosa hard, which is a clear implication of the fact that he can even use it on massive objects in the blink of an eye. If that wasn’t enough, it must also be remembered that Leo can pierce metal and everything else with his Devil Fruit ability. This essentially means that nothing is impervious to the sewing of the new Nui Nui no Mi, be it metal, skin, ground, or just about anything else. Leo’s needle can pierce it all, and this Devil Fruit doesn’t seem to have any weakness, aside from the standard weakness of Devil Fruits. The only person capable of undoing these threads is Leo himself.

Apart from him, nobody else has been shown to have enough power to undo the threads, which goes to show how effective this Devil Fruit power truly is.

Devil Fruit Classification: Paramecia
Another exciting Devil Fruit that fans have seen in the Dressrosa arc of One Piece was the Hobi Hobi no Mi. This Devil Fruit belongs to Sugar of the Donquixote Pirates. As fans know, Sugar was key to Doflamingo’s plans, and all that was simply down to the fact that she possesses the powers of the Hobi Hobi no Mi. Oda revealed the design of this Devil Fruit recently, and it is safe to say that it is quite a memorable one. The design of the Hobi Hobi no Mi resembles a toy itself, which is a nod towards its powers. The fruit has a wind, which can often be found on toys, such as the one-armed toy soldier from Dressrosa. Under the vine-shaped stem, the fruit appears to be similar to a toy wheel, with a strip going all around a ball-shaped fruit. It is hard to see what fruit actually this resembles, but it is clearly a depiction of a toy with a winding mechanic. Clearly, the powers of this Devil Fruit are predictable just looking at the design, and it is fitting, given what this fruit allows the user to do. As far as the colors go, the Hobi Hobi no Mi has three distinct colors. The stem of the fruit is green, while the ring running around it is red, with the ball itself being yellow. Given how important this Devil Fruit was in the Dressrosa arc, it is certainly a good decision by Oda to go ahead and reveal what Leo’s Devil Fruit looks like and how its design matches its powers.

The Powers Of The Fruit
The powers of the Hobi Hobi no Mi are certainly very dangerous. The user of this Devil Fruit is perennially stuck at the same age when they consume this fruit. Sugar consumed this fruit when she was quite young, and since then, her body hasn’t aged, while her mind certainly has. But, that is not the main power of this Devil Fruit. This fruit allows Sugar to turn anyone into a toy of her choosing upon contact with her palms. Sugar can then enforce a contract on any of her toys, and they immediately get erased from the memories of everyone whoever knew them. The toy is forced to follow the commands of Sugar, provided she made them sign a contract. Anything Sugar asks them to do, they are compelled to follow, which is what makes this Devil Fruit so deadly. But, undoubtedly, the most dangerous aspect of this Devil Fruit is that everyone forgets all knowledge of those who are attacked using its powers.

The only weakness of this Devil Fruit is the user being knocked out. Provided the user is knocked out, the effects of this Devil Fruit are reversed, and everyone turned into a toy regains the original forms once again.
