It’s no surprise that many fans of One Piece admire the Straw Hat captain and the protagonist of the series, Monkey D. Luffy. He’s a kind, powerful and chaotic pirate whose only goal is to be free in the sea and have a great adventure. He surprisingly has a strong sense of morality as seen throughout his journey in One Piece and his liberation of different countries. There’s no shonen protagonist who is quite as fascinating as Luffy.

Recently, the American YouTuber, IShowSpeed, introduced his audience to his Luffy-themed gaming set-up that must’ve cost a fortune to build. Considering the YouTuber’s net worth of $10 million, the cost could be insignificant to him. His set-up would make any One Piece fan yearn for the same.

IShowSpeed’s set-up consists of the Straw Hat Jolly Roger in the middle, above his PC, with two fancy Luffy posters on either side. The most intriguing part of the set-up was his desk which was in the shape of the Gomu Gomu no Pistol, Luffy’s earliest known attack form in One Piece. He then shows off a 3D-printed head of Luffy above his bed. IShowSpeed clearly loves One Piece and isn’t afraid to show it off.

Monkey D. Luffy might have a few screws loose in his brain but he has shown a better sense of self and morality in One Piece than most of the characters. The protagonist wholeheartedly believes in anyone he crosses paths with, even those who might’ve been his enemy earlier. He is willing to go to great lengths to defend his friends and family, sometimes at the cost of his own life. He has granted several countries their freedom because he knows what’s happening is wrong and could never be complacent. It’s a surprise how such a simple person has this amazing mindset.

From punching a Celestial Dragon to covering Boa Sandersonia’s slave mark from the eyes of the public, the simple pirate isn’t always as stupid as he is. He’s compassionate and observant at times too. He might not remember to always shut his mouth or stay out of other people’s business but he always means well and as the protagonist, it mostly turns out well for him. It’s hard not to be dedicated to Monkey D. Luffy when he always does the craziest yet kindest acts.

Some fans believe the YouTuber might be expressing his love for One Piece for the sake of clout. The man has the means and the money to make an extravagant set-up for nothing but showing off and keeping the theme solely on Monkey D. Luffy was his clever way of simplifying it so he doesn’t come off as fake.
