One Piece fans recently fan casted a bunch of actors for the role of characters in the live-action series and a few of them are completely spot on.

SUMMARY

One Piece live-action series has been keeping the hype by announcing new cast members for Season 2.
Some big names from the industry have joined the cast and are ready to show their talent in the upcoming season.
Seeing all this, fans decided to cast some of the characters on their own and their choices are spot on.

The craze for One Piece live-action has been going strong ever since the series was released on Netflix in 2023. Being probably the first successful anime live-action adaptation, Netflix’s One Piece managed to break many records and also became the motivator for other prominent live-action adaptations like Avatar: The Last Airbender and Yu Yu Hakusho.

The creators managed to continue the excitement for One Piece live-action by introducing the vast array of new cast members who are going to join the series for the second season. These cast members have taken on the roles of the most popular One Piece characters, like Crocodile, Smoker, Nico Robin, etc., which has led to fans anticipating another successful season of the series.

However, fans have not stopped there. After seeing the magnificent cast that is going to join the One Piece live-action, they decided to fancast some of the characters from the series by themselves. And while they have come up with some great choices, the ones that make the most perfect sense are Blackbeard and Gecko Moria.

The new cast members of One Piece live-action are everything fans hoped for

Although 2024 didn’t see any kind of special release from the One Piece live-action series, it still managed to maintain the hype by making grand revelations about the cast members who will be joining the series for the second season. These announcements came out in three steps, with the most significant character being announced in the last.

The first major announcement that shook the internet was popular actor David Dastmalchian joining the cast as Mr. 3. This was certainly a big update, as Dastmalchian has been a big anime fan and also has a massive fan following, but it didn’t stop there. After this, the creators surprised fans with another announcement that revealed that Charithra Chandan would play Vivi, also known as Miss Wednesday.

While fans were contemplating these announcements, the One Piece live-action made the biggest revelation that Crocodile will be played by Magic Mike actor Joe Manganiello, and Nico Robin will be portrayed by Lera Abova. These are certainly some of the biggest names who will only help in making the One Piece live-action season 2 even more enticing.

One Piece fans have started casting characters on their own

After seeing the brilliant casting for the One Piece live-action Season 2, fans decided to take it one step further by fan-casting characters on their own. It started with fans picking Henry Cavill for the role of Katakuri, as it perfectly fits his build and personality. But now a recent post by u/almi8tyzeus on Reddit has predicted some other castings for One Piece characters.

While there are a bunch of them, the fan castings that fit perfectly are of Blackbeard, the main antagonist of One Piece, and Gecko Moria, the villain of the Thriller Bark arc.

According to fans, the actor who would be perfect to play the role of Gecko Moria is popular actor and comedian, Matt Berry. He fits the horror/comedic profile of the One Piece villain.

In Blackbeard’s case, fans decided to go with Brooklyn 99 actor Craig Robinson. Robinson is quite famous for his role as Doug Judy, and he has also acted in other prominent TV series like the U.S. version of The Office. While these castings are spot on, fans will have to wait and see whether Netflix allows One Piece live-action to go that far into the story.
