One Piece community voice their opinoin on Luffy’s Observation Haki being different from others.
When otakus first met Monkey D. Luffy in Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece, they were taken aback as the character was anything but a traditional protagonist shown in anime greats like Naruto, Bleach, Dragon Ball, and Yu Yu Hakusho. Though he is mostly a goofball, he values qualities like friendship, freedom, and being selfless.

Oda-Sensei has ensured that it’s not merely his traits but also his unconventional powers that make him so distinct. Despite having several power systems in the series, Haki is one of the most defining features that helps him to reinforce his body, predict attacks, and see into the future.
While several characters have shown Observation Haki, the mangaka has ensured that his protagonist has the most unique Haki that puts him above Yasopp, the best sniper in the whole OP verse.
Eiichiro Oda Gave Monkey D. Luffy His Own Unique Kenbunshoku no Haki
Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece is the most unpredictable piece of fiction that has kept the Otaku community on their tiptoes as they have been excitedly waiting for the day when Luffy becomes the next Pirate King. In his epic journey, the manga artist has given him several power ups, including the fan favorite Gear 5, and how he has mastered the different types of Haki.

The Captain of the Straw Hat Pirates has showcased mastery of Kenbunshoku no Haki, where he can briefly tap into the future. However, a new fan theory lingers around the internet stating how our Future Pirate King can use the Observation Haki differently than others.
A One Piece enthusiast (@ShesoOp) shared a YouTube Short on their official channel with the title “Luffy’s very unique Kenbunshko Haki.” The creator took the viewers all the way back to episode 869, where the Yonko was training under the guidance of Silvers “Dark King” Rayleigh so that he could master the Observation Haki.

He emphasized how his eyes were closed the entire time he was training, where Luffy attempted to avoid Rayleigh’s attacks. During his training, the Dark King hit him “a total of 100 times,” but on the 100th try, he “completely hid his presence,” but still Luffy managed to avoid the attack.
What is noticeable is how the Straw Hat said, “I can’t sense your presence, but for some reason, I can see you smiling and relaxed.” The theorist claimed that this very moment gives a sneak peek at his Observation Haki is so unique, where, unlike Yasopp, who can see far into the future, he can sense a person’s emotions and facial expressions.
This might be another foreshadowing of Eiichiro Oda, where Luffy is moving close to the final war; he needs another major power-up, and what better way to do it than giving him a major buff in his Haki abilities?
One Piece fans voice their opinion on Luffy’s distinct Observation Haki
The fan theory has assembled the One Piece community, where the notion of Luffy having his own distinct Observation Haki has added another layer of intrigue to the character who appears to be a silly boy on the surface. Though it is quite clear that his instincts and emotional awareness of others add to his Observation Haki, fans think it is one of the foreshadows of Oda-Sensei.

The fans assembled and collectively mentioned how it makes sense because of his connection with Joyboy, who is “connected to emotions.” The fans commented,
@bang3222dangfang commented, “He See’s Intent, that’s also how he able to judge people so well”
@dragoe305 commented, “Is this why he’s always a good judge of character and he always knows that somebody’s going to be a good guy even though people portrayed him as bad guys”
@minerkris commented, “See luffy knows ultra instinct too”
@sabinvators4035 commented, “Fujitora could do the same as seen in the end of dressrosa arc”
@narutogamer-vt1gu commented, “It actually makes sense because joyboy is connected to emotions”
Nonetheless, it is another intriguing observation that has riled up the community, as they are astounded by how Oda-Sensei has planned his work so that everything perfectly falls into place, ensuring that it remains the King of Shonen.
