SUMMARY
One Piece has finally introduced the Twin Shanks who fans had anticipated a long time ago.
This Twin is believed to be Shanks’ real brother, but nothing has been confirmed by Eiichiro Oda.
There is a theory that claims that Twin Shanks is not his brother but a super soldier clone.
The recent revelation about Shanks having a twin who is a member of the God Knights is one that One Piece fans have anticipated for a long time. Ever since Shanks has been portrayed in a contentious situation where he met the Five Elders, fans have been hoping for an explanation that would justify all of this, and Shanks’ twin is the perfect answer for it.

However, the official introduction of Shanks’ twin begs another question about whether he is his brother, and if so, does this mean that Shanks is a Celestial Dragon himself? Eiichiro Oda has yet to reveal more details about the Twin Shanks, and till then, fans have been devising multiple theories about who this mysterious character is.
According to a One Piece theory, the Twin Shanks is not Shanks’ real brother but a clone with super soldier strength. Cloning has been a major aspect of One Piece, and it has become recurrent in the past few arcs. Thus, it would make sense for Oda to introduce a clone of Shanks to make the One Piece narrative even more interesting.
One Piece theory explains Shanks’ evil twin is a clone
u/TypiKal_Rah21 on Reddit recently posted a theory that claims that the One Piece narrative is focusing more on the scientific aspects of the story, like genes, cloning, lineage, etc. From the Seraphim to Stussy, the One Piece storyline is giving a lot of significance to cloning, and it wouldn’t come as a shock if the Elbaph arc also includes a plot line focusing on it.
The theory states that the recurring cloning plot element could be introduced in the Elbaph arc through the Twin Shanks, who made his official appearance in One Piece chapter 1134. While the general opinion is that he is Shanks’ brother, there is not much evidence to prove it, as Shanks’ lineage has been a mystery since the beginning of One Piece.
Also, the fact that Twin Shanks is a member of the God Knights, he would have to be insanely powerful. Thus, it would make sense to include the super soldier clone of Shanks, who has similar powers as the One Piece Emperor and maybe even more. The upcoming chapters will focus on the Twin Shanks and will most likely reveal more details about him.
The process of cloning in One Piece
The cloning process has been a part of the One Piece storyline for quite some time, but it has recently become a more talked-about topic within the narrative. The first institution to accomplish cloning was MADS, who were able to create Stussy, a clone of former Rocks Pirates member Buckingham Stussy.

After that, many other organizations, like the Germa 66 and the World Government, have used the process of cloning to create super soldiers modified according to their needs. The Germa 66 has an entire army of clones, while the World Government created Seraphim, who were the modified clones of the Warlords of the One Piece world.
Even Vegapunk created a clone of himself, which was revealed in the recent One Piece chapter. The concept of clones has become quite recurrent, and it wouldn’t come as a surprise if Eiichiro Oda makes it one of the biggest turning points for the One Piece narrative during the final war.
