Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, 55, is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, after being charged with s3x trafficking and r@cketeering conspiracy
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs reportedly had a meltdown when he realized he would be spending Christmas in j@il, missing yet another important occasion.
The infamous music mogul is currently incarcerated at the harsh Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, awaiting trial on charges of s3x trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, transportation, and engaging in prostitution. The 55-year-old rapper is expected to remain in custody until his trial begins on May 5, 2025. Combs has vehemently denied all allegations.
However, when it dawned on him that he wouldn’t be released from prison for Christmas, despite his repeated bail requests, Diddy allegedly had a breakdown and pleaded with guards to take him to the prison hospital for observation – a request that was refused.
Insiders claim that Diddy thought he would be released on bail due to his “high powered legal team”. However, sources close to Diddy told the Mirror UK that reports of a “meltdown” are “false”.

“Spending the holidays behind bars was a nightmare for him,” an insider said to MailOnline. They further revealed that after his alleged “meltdown”, he “eventually managed to calm himself down with the meditation technique he’s been using while he’s been behind bars. It took him a few hours of deep breathing and focusing to get out of the bad space he was in, but he finally managed it.”
Despite rumors of a breakdown, a source close to the star reassured the Mirror with exclusive insights: “He continues to stay strong and focused on his defence. Although he missed his family on Christmas Day, a holiday he traditionally spends with his children.”
MailOnline has reported that the iconic Diddy often skips meals while he’s locked up awaiting his 2025 trial. The buzz around Diddy’s supposed meltdown grew after he looked ‘thinner and greyer’ at a recent court date, reports the Mirror.
On December 18, Diddy stood before Judge Arun Subramanian, dealing with multiple legal issues. Assistant U.S Attorney Emily Johnson played it close to the vest, citing the ongoing case as the reason for secrecy. She did confirm that May 5, 2025, remains the scheduled trial day and hinted, “Any additional charges will have little discovery information.”
In addition to the criminal charges, Combs has been sued by several individuals who have filed civil suits alleging physical or s3xual abuse, including his ex-girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie. More allegations could be in the pipeline for Diddy, prosecutors hinted.
Though no cameras captured the courtroom scene, Law and Crime Network’s Elizabeth Millner painted a picture for her audience, noting Diddy’s startlingly gaunt look: “He appeared just astonishingly thinner, which you can expect [from him being] inside a federal detention center for a couple of months now.”
She added that the musician who has been detained since being charged appeared to be “greyer” than usual. In a statement via his legal team, they said Diddy cannot address every meritless allegation in what has become a reckless media circus.

His team stated: “Mr Combs emphatically and categorically denies as false and defamatory any claim that he s2xually abused anyone, including minors. He looks forward to proving his innocence and vindicating himself in court, where the truth will be established based on evidence, not speculation.”
Diddy was demanding a trial as early as spring. In a filing to the US Department of Justice, Diddy’s legal team requested investigators turn over evidence they have against him so they can ‘review the material in advance of a spring trial date’.
The document, which was seen by The Mirror, also stated that Diddy ‘continues to assert his right to a speedy trial’ and said he had requested an April or May 2025 trial date.
The request filed called for a peek at materials confiscated from Diddy during swoops on his Miami and Los Angeles digs in March. The feds dropped in their brief that they’re sifting through heaps – terabytes!– of digital stuff snagged from Diddy, plus others.
Phones, laptops, tablets, hard drives, the works, all scooped up along with ‘physical evidence seized in searches of the defendant’s residence’. He’s apparently thrown in the towel on the bail battle, with all shots at freedom swatted down by Subramanian who pegged him as a risk to “safety of the community.”
After striking out thrice in court, Combs nixed his fourth swing at bail, copping a new plea to stay locked up until May 5, 2025.
We’ve hollered at Diddy’s camp for their two cents.
