Black Clover season 5 is eagerly awaited by fans; hopefully, the anime’s potential return will do justice to Yuki Tabata’s storytelling prowess.
SUMMARY
Black Clover anime has been on a hiatus since 2021 with no updates regarding its potential return.
As the story in the anime approaches thrilling arcs, it becomes important for the anime to do justice to Yuki Tabata’s storytelling.
As fans eagerly await the anime’s potential return, Studio Pierrot should ensure that Black Clover anime steers clear of one issue that haunts One Piece fans.
As soon as a shonen manga starts gaining recognition among fans, a clock starts ticking in their minds for the official announcement of a potential anime adaptation. Fans of Yuki Tabata’s Black Clover were no different, and their wait was rewarded with a considerably good anime adaptation in 2017. However, fans once again find themselves in the middle of another excruciating waiting period, as the anime has been on a hiatus since 2021.

There haven’t been many updates regarding the anime’s potential return. The long hiatus might prove beneficial for the quality of the anime when it returns with season 5 of the series. However, the one challenge that could potentially ruin the much-awaited comeback of Black Clover is bad pacing.
The One Piece anime is a perfect example of how pacing can lead to a miserable dip in quality. However, using One Piece as an example could prove beneficial for the future of Black Clover. If you are wondering how here’s the explanation you need!
Black Clover anime is fairly paced, but…

Most long-running shonen series struggle with pacing issues due to numerous fillers and unnecessarily stretched narratives. Black Clover is one of the better anime adaptations in that regard. The anime has fewer fillers, but instead of adding unnecessary fluff to the anime, it tastefully expands the world created by Yuki Tabata.
While fillers don’t usually pose a problem with Black Clover anime, the pacing in the early stages feels quite dragged. The anime takes its sweet time introducing the characters and the settings, but as the story progresses the pacing gets much better.

Whenever the anime returns in the future, Studio Pierrot should ensure that it’s fairly paced. Pierrot has proved what they’re truly capable of with Thousand-Year Blood War anime, and hopefully, Black Clover will get a similar treatment. If not Bleach, then One Piece also serves as a good example for Black Clover.
Black Clover should avoid One Piece’s mistake at all costs
One Piece is infamous for the most horrible pacing among all shonen series. From filler content blended with canon scenes to a horrible chapters-to-episode ratio, One Piece checks off all the boxes, as far as bad pacing is concerned. After all these years, the anime has finally taken a necessary break citing quality as a primary reason. While we don’t know how much the anime will change after the hiatus, it’s fair to expect that things will be better.

Black Clover should avoid repeating the same mistake as One Piece, and the anime has already taken a three-year-long break, so it’s fair to expect that the upcoming season will be much better in terms of quality and pacing. The anime could also switch the schedule from weekly to seasonal to ensure that the excruciating wait of fans proves worthwhile in the end.
