Studio Mappa’s Hell’s Paradise Season 2 Officially Announced for January 2026 + New Teaser PV Released

The second season of Hell’s Paradise has officially been announced, and it’s set to premiere in January 2026. This news was unveiled during the Jump Festa 2025 event at Makuhari Messe in Chiba on December 21, 2024.

A new teaser PV was also released, featuring fresh footage from the upcoming season. The PV offers glimpses of Sagiri and her companions venturing deeper into Shinsenkyo, while also introducing new executioners, including Yamada Asaemon Shugen.

The announcement included comments from the cast and crew. Yumiri Hanamori, who voices Sagiri, expressed her excitement, saying that she is thrilled to bring this new season to fans and is focused on portraying the struggles and brilliance of the characters.

Makoto Koichi, who voices Nurugai, shared enthusiasm for the new characters and their roles in the story. Director Kaori Makita also provided a heartfelt message, noting her gratitude for returning to this project.

She highlighted the emotional depth of the characters and the dedication of the production team, who are working to faithfully adapt key moments from the manga.

In addition to the anime news, the franchise’s first game adaptation, Hell’s Paradise: Paradise Battle, was announced. Developed by Good Smile Company, the game is set for release in 2025 on iOS, Android, and Windows.

It will feature newly recorded voiceovers and an original scenario supervised by Akira Kindaichi, the anime’s scriptwriter. A promotional video for the game was also released.

For context, Hell’s Paradise (Jigokuraku) originated as a manga by Yuji Kaku, serialized on Shonen Jump+ from January 22, 2018, to January 25, 2021. It spans 127 chapters collected in 13 manga volumes.

The anime adaptation, produced by MAPPA, aired its first season from April 1 to July 1, 2023, consisting of 13 episodes. The series was streamed internationally on platforms like Crunchyroll and Netflix, with regional restrictions.

Anime director, Kaori Makita summarized the team’s dedication in her comments, stating,

“To everyone who watched Season 1 and has been waiting for Season 2, thank you so much. I’m honored to once again work on the story of Gabimaru and the others. The characters endured struggles in Season 1, each surviving in their own way. Now, we are focusing on how to depict their emotional changes and the iconic scenes from the manga. The staff for Season 2 is filled with love for Hell’s Paradise, and production is progressing in a wonderful atmosphere. Please look forward to it.”
