During a live announcement on December 9, Fuji TV disclosed that the upcoming anime adaptation of The Beginning After The End will debut in April 2025.
Crunchyroll is set to make the series accessible worldwide, with the exception of Asia, though India will be included in the distribution. The new teaser trailer showcases glimpses of Arthur’s past life as a king and eventually being born into the new world.
Originally revealed on October 19, 2024, at New York Comic Con, this project marks a rare adaptation of a popular American web novel and webcomic into a Japanese animated series.
Staff, Voice Cast and Their Previous Roles
The production has attached recognized talent to its cast. Natsumi Fujiwara, previously heard as Chihiro Komiya in Shonen Maid, and Damian Desmond in Spy x Family.
Makoto Furukawa, known for performances as Saitama in One Punch Man and Banri Tada in Golden Time, will portray Grey. This casting choice signals a willingness to invest in performers with strong track records, likely ensuring a sound foundation for the main characters.
The anime’s first season is scheduled for 24 episodes, split into two cours. TurtleMe, the creator of the source material, is serving as an executive producer, presumably to maintain accuracy to the original work.
Keitaro Motonaga, who previously worked on Katanagatari, Jormungand, and Digimon Adventure tri., will direct. Takamitsu Kōno, known for projects like Utawarerumono and Absolute Duo, will handle script supervision.
Masami Sueoka, associated with Chihayafuru and Grimgar, Ashes and Illusions, is overseeing character designs. Keiji Inai, whose compositions have accompanied DanMachi, Alderamin on the Sky, and Vivy: Flourite Eye’s Song, will take charge of the score.
Studio A-CAT, known for contributions to Frame Arms Girl, is animating, and Slow Curve, involved in projects like 86 -Eighty Six- and Beastars, is producing.
