In 2023, after three seasons at Louisville, Hailey Van Lith transferred to the reigning National Champion Louisiana State Tigers. It was a huge addition for a team already looking strong to go back-to-back. However, Angel Reese recently opened up about Van Lith’s relationship with her teammates
During Reese’s podcast “Unapologetically Angel,” she revealed that Van Lith was very distant from the rest of the team.
“We weren’t, like, super close. But I was probably one of the closer people with her on the team,” said Reese. “I think she was really distant from everybody else, so I kinda felt bad. So I was like, “let me get close to her and like see who she is” because she was the only white girl on the team. So, I didn’t want her to feel uncomfortable. I wanted her to feel as comfortable as she could.”
“I think it just wasn’t a good fit for that specific team. She’s an amazing guard that can do so many great things on the court,” Reese continued. “I’ve seen her kill for a long time, and I know she’ll continue to kill. I’ve seen her get her confidence back.”
Of course, striving for such a huge accomplishment as winning back-to-back National Championships can be extremely difficult if the team isn’t on the same page.
Angel Reese Is Clearly In The Running For WNBA Rookie of the Year
Not only was Reese an outstanding player while at LSU, but she also produced just as much in her rookie season with the Chicago Sky.
Among rookies, she is second in points per game
Of course, she also broke the record for most rebounds in a season and is currently at 446, smashing the previous number set by Sylvia Flowers at 401.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes knows the team got away with a massive victory due to a single toe.
The 2024 season began with a photo-finish victory for the Kansas City Chiefs as Baltimore Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely came down with a toe out of bounds at the back of the end zone just as time expired.
“Definitely nerve-wracking because it looked good from my angle on the sideline,” Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes admitted during his postgame press conference. “But then the first [instant replay] view you saw, you could see the cleat.”
Mahomes also called the Ravens a “great football team” that he expects to see again in the playoffs.
He then offered some advice to Baltimore Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely on his failed tow touchdown.
“He’s gotta wear white cleats next time,” Patrick Mahomes said. “That’s my advice for him.”
Lamar Jackson found Likely for a last-second touchdown catch that would have given the Ravens a chance to tie or win the game, but a single toe caused them to start the year 0-1 and fail to avenge their loss from the AFC Championship game.
Despite what picture and video evidence said, Ravens players weren’t totally convinced that the call should have been overturned.
Linebacker Roquan Smith told reporters that he thought there wasn’t enough evidence to overturn it after it was initially called a touchdown, while Jackson agreed, saying, “I still think it was a touchdown.”
Patrick Mahomes Wasted No Time Utilizing His Star Rookie WR
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw for 291 yards with a touchdown and an interception, making just enough plays to outlast Lamar Jackson and the Ravens in a rematch of last season’s AFC Championship Game, per his stats on ESPN.
Mahomes certainly has life much easier for him as he made sure to utilize star rookie wideout Xavier Worthy.
The Kansas City rookie first-round pick caught a 35-yard touchdown and ran for a 21-yard score in his first-ever game.
