Anna Kendrick had some choice words for an unnamed director she had an “icky” experience with.
The “Pitch Perfect” star recalled the time a director once embarrassed her on the set of a film in front of 100 extras during her recent appearance on Monday’s episode of Josh Horowitz’s “Happy Sad Confused” podcast.
The incident took place after the filmmaker suggested she improvise one of her scenes.

The incident, she said, took place after she was prompted by the director to improvise one of her scenes.
After she performed the task, he showed he wasn’t impressed by ridiculing her with a snide comment, she revealed.
“I did it and then the director called cut and came over and, once again in front of 100 extras, was like, ‘Oof, let’s go back to the script!’” she recalled during the live taping.
The actress was quick to label the situation as a “very specific power move,” saying the director’s intention was to “embarrass” and “gain dominance” over her.

“It was very icky,” added Kendrick, who most recently made her directorial debut and starred in Netflix’s “Woman of the Hour.”
“And then the thing that I improved ended up in the trailer,” Kendrick said on the podcast. “So, f–k you!”
In her new film, Kendrick portrays Cheryl Bradshaw — an unsuspecting woman who ended up on a date with serial killer Rodney Alcala after both starring on an episode of “The Dating Game.”
The movie is based on the true story of Alcala, who later became recognized as the Dating Game Killer.

Kendrick also stars in the film as Cheryl Bradshaw, an unsuspecting woman who wound up on a date with serial killer Rodney Alcala after they both appeared on “The Dating Game” show.
Alcala, who is played by Daniel Zovatto in the movie, was arrested in 1979. Police linked him to at least seven women’s deaths, but he’s believed to have killed up to 130 people.
He was convicted of killing four woman and a 12-year-old girl, but pleaded not guilty. Alcala was sentenced to death and died on July 24, 2021, of natural causes at age 77 while on death row in California.
“Woman of the Hour” is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
