Cardi B is sticking up for Will Smith.
On Wednesday, the “I Like It” rapper hopped on an Instagram Live to support Smith after a video blogger aired an interview with claims about Smith’s sex life that the actor’s rep called “completely fabricated.” As she analyzed Smith’s situation, she tied it back to her ongoing legal battle with blogger Tasha K.
“I don’t like how I got fooled a couple of weeks ago..some people just never change,” Cardi B, 31, said on her Instagram Live Wednesday, according to a video shared on X (formerly known as Twitter). In October, Cardi reportedly debated easing up on Tasha K — who still owes the rapper more than $3 million in damages — on social media, according to TMZ.
“I don’t like what people be doing to Will Smith. I be feeling like Will Smith is very unproblematic and I feel like he has a nice heart, and that’s the thing,” she added. “I found out that Will Smith is a Libra…Libras, we be getting tried, we be getting tried, and then when we outburst, we outburst so f—ing heavy, that we become the ones in the wrong. We go so crazy, people be like, ‘Oh my God!’”
She continued, “Ya’ll be doing that to Will Smith. And I don’t like that some people never f—ing change. I’m so tired of people picking on that man. Deadass.”
In her Instagram Live, the “Up” rapper concluded by saying she knew what it was like to be publicly berated by false statements.
During a recent interview on Unwine With Tasha K, an individual named Brother Bilal claimed that years ago, he walked in on Smith and fellow actor Duane Martin having sex. Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith, as well as the actor’s rep, have denied those claims.

“Let me just say this,” Pinkett Smith began during an interview on Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club. “It’s ridiculous, right? And it’s nonsense.”
As for Tasha K, Cardi filed a defamation lawsuit against her in 2019 after the blogger made a series of negative claims about her. Ultimately, the court sided with Cardi.
Cardi said in a statement shared with PEOPLE at the time, “After almost four years of repeated libel and slander against me, being able to walk away from this victorious brings me great happiness. I appreciate Judge Ray for conducting a fair and impartial trial.”
“I am grateful for the jury and their careful deliberation over the past two weeks. I am profoundly grateful for the hard work and support from my legal team. Most importantly, thank you to my family and close friends who held my hand and helped me get the support I needed during this experience.”
Seemingly referencing her moment during the trial when she testified that Kebe’s remarks caused her to be “extremely suicidal,” Cardi said in her statement that fans have “learned about the darkest time in my life,” sharing it was “fueled by the vile, disgusting, and completely false narratives that were repeatedly and relentlessly being shared online.”
“I thought I would never be heard or vindicated and I felt completely helpless and vulnerable,” Cardi added. “I have never taken for granted the platform that my fame allows me to have, which is why for over three years I dedicated every resource I had to seek justice.”
