DONALD Trump has won a crushing election victory over Kamala Harris after battleground swing states turned red and delivered him the White House.
His commanding performance has left Democrats humiliated after he flipped Pennsylvania and Georgia and held onto North Carolina.
With Pennsylvania’s 19 electoral college votes, 16 from Georgia and North Carolina and another in Maine – Trump swept to 267 needed out of 270 all before 2am ET.
He likely now only needs Alaska – a red-leaning state – to seal the deal.
The former president took to the stage at a convention center in Florida to address ecstatic crowds – promising to usher America into a “Golden Age”.
He told them: “Frankly I believe this was the greatest political movement of all time.”
“We have a country that needs help very badly”, he said, promising to “fix everything”.
Trump declared: “It’s clear that… this is a political victory”.
Referencing the botched assassination attempt on his life in July, he claimed: “God spared my life for a reason.
“And that reason was to save our country and restore America to greatness. And now we’re going to fulfill that mission together.”
Meanwhile Kamala Harris appeared to go into hiding – with her team confirming she would not be addressing voters tonight.
Pictures from the Harris watch party in DC showed downcast voters amid reports of a “silent” atmosphere as early celebrations wound down.
Fans deserted the arena grounds in the early hours – as a Trump victory began to look more and more likely.

‘World will need to re-calibrate’ after Trump’s historic election victory
Dr Alan Mendoza, executive director for the think tank Henry Jackson Society, told The Sun that the world will need to adjust after Trump’s US election win and that lessons can be learned from the ex-president’s former stint in the White House.
He said “Donald Trump’s comprehensive victory means that US allies and enemies alike are going to have to recalibrate their positions to reflect that, it is now going to be his global agenda that the world moves to.
“It would be a mistake to assume that anything – whether the end of the war in Ukraine or the future of the Middle East – is a foregone conclusion.
“The history of the first Trump administration from 2016-20 shows that those who engage and respect the USA did well, while those who denigrated and challenged it did badly.
Lessons can be learned from that, about how to position internationally to make sure that countries are in the driving seat of history rather than its passengers.”

Ukrainian prime minister Zelenskyy congratulates Trump
Leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy sent his best wishes to Trump, writing on X: “Congratulations to @realDonaldTrump on his impressive election victory!
“I recall our great meeting with President Trump back in September, when we discussed in detail the Ukraine-U.S. strategic partnership, the Victory Plan, and ways to put an end to Russian aggression against Ukraine.
“I appreciate President Trump’s commitment to the “peace through strength” approach in global affairs.
“This is exactly the principle that can practically bring just peace in Ukraine closer. I am hopeful that we will put it into action together.”
He took the opportunity to remind that Ukraine relies on “continued strong bipartisan support for Ukraine in the United States”, following comments by Trump in the past about cutting down on aid.
“We are interested in developing mutually beneficial political and economic cooperation that will benefit both of our nations. Ukraine, as one of Europe’s strongest military powers, is committed to ensuring long-term peace and security in Europe and the Transatlantic community with the support of our allies,” he added.
“I am looking forward to personally congratulating President Trump and discussing ways to strengthen Ukraine’s strategic partnership with the United States.”
Prime Minister Keir Starmer congratulates Trump on projected win
Sir Keir Starmer this morning congratulated Donald Trump on his sweeping election victory.
In a written statement, the PM declared he looks forward to working with the incoming President and continuing to foster the US-UK “special relationship”.
Sir Keir said: “Congratulations President-elect Trump on your historic election victory. I look forward to working with you in the years ahead.
“As the closest of allies, we stand shoulder to shoulder in defence of our shared values of freedom, democracy and enterprise.
“From growth and security to innovation and tech, I know that the UK-US special relationship will continue to prosper on both sides of the Atlantic for years to come.”
Foreign Secretary David Lammy, who has accused Trump of being a “neo-nazi”, a “woman hater” and the “KKK”, also offered congratulations.
He said: “Congratulations to Donald Trump on your victory.
“The UK has no greater friend than the US, with the special relationship being cherished on both sides of the Atlantic for more than 80 years.
“We look forward to working with you and JD Vance in the years ahead.”

First world leaders break silence on Donald Trump’s projected win
Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent a message to Trump on X, writing: “Dear Donald and Melania Trump, Congratulations on history’s greatest comeback!
“Your historic return to the White House offers a new beginning for America and a powerful recommitment to the great alliance between Israel and America. This is a huge victory!”
Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orban quickly followed, writing on X: “The biggest comeback in US political history! Congratulations to President @realDonaldTrump on his enormous win.
“A much needed victory for the World!”
Testing days ahead for UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy
Results coming out of the US will prove incredibly testing for a British Labour government and in particular David Lammy.
As recently as 2018 the Foreign Secretary has called Trump a “neo-nazi sympathising sociopath” and “woman hater”.
Lammy has also slammed Trump as a “threat to international order”.
Since being announced Shadow Foreign Secretary while Labour was in opposition, the MP for Tottenham has desperately tried to claw back on his colourful comments.
Prior to the election he conducted love-bombing missions to Republican foreign affairs think tanks across the States.
In particular he’s focused on forging close ties with JD Vance, heaping praise on his “similar working class background” and “issues with addiction in the family”.
In July the Foreign Secretary said: “I think I can find common ground with JD Vance.”
Whether that has paid off, we will see.
