Following the incident, the Eagles superfan who injured his knee from a chest bump with Jason Kelce gave an update on his health. After declaring retirement from the NFL in March, Kelce worked as an analyst for ESPN’s Monday Night Football back home with the Eagles. Rob Dunphy and Kelce decided to bump chests on stage during the pregame festivities, and afterward, the latter injured his knee.
Dunphy posted on social media on Tuesday night, claiming that the results of some x-rays he had had indicated a serious knee injury. Dunphy also mentioned that he will be using crutches to get around while he waits for an MRI, which he wants to have completed in the coming days.
‘My knee has seen better days, I’m in good spirits though,’ Dunphy said. ‘I’m just a little banged up, I’ll be alright. It’s not the end of the world’. The future Hall of Fame center was among the many people who contacted him following the chest bump, according to the viral tattooed fan.

Dunphy stated, “Jason Kelce did reach out.” “Jason Kelce is the man.” His entire group is fantastic. Dunphy stated he would do it again and was thankful for the experience despite the injury. He remarked, “They’re helping me live out the dream of every Eagles fan.” ‘I am really grateful to them. It’s incredibly awesome. To be really honest, it’s fantastic. I’d do it all over again”.
During Monday Night Countdown, Kelce—who was also spotted dancing and hurling beer cans at spectators—denied drinking alcohol. He continued, saying he threw out roughly 100 beers but did not drink any. Kelce did admit, though, that resisting temptation is tough. ‘I’m a professional, Travis. Do you know how hard that was?’ he asked. ‘I’m a professional, Travis. I don’t mess around.’
Still, Kelce made the superfan’s lifelong memory, and the rest of the fan community made sure he was okay. “I think it’s great that the Eagles supporters love me,” Dunphy remarked. Philadelphia loves me. It’s quite awesome.
Jason, who played 13 seasons with the Eagles before retiring from the NFL in March, returned to Lincoln Financial Field on Monday in anticipation of Philadelphia’s home opener.
During the pregame show, cameras showed Jason, who joined the network in the spring and is now an ESPN commentator, rousing fans on stage prior to kickoff and then joining broadcasters Troy Aikman and Joe Buck in the booth during the third quarter.
“How crazy is it? The first time I’m back in the building I’m commenting on a game?” the 36-year-old said. “… Before the game, being out in the parking lot, the countdown, being up in the booth with Joe and Troy, it was really, really awesome for me, so selfishly, I am just beyond happy that that was kind of how I get to remember my first time being in the Linc not as a player”.
