Eminem faced off with his alter ego Slim Shady in a contentious new clip in which he referenced his one-time rap rival Machine Gun Kelly.

The clip – which is set ‘somewhere in the Detroit multiverse’ – was posted Tuesday by Complex and titled ‘Slim Shady vs. Marshall Mathers: THE FACE-OFF.’

In it, the Grammy-winning rapper, 51, is clad in a cap with a beard and hooded black shirt, khaki pants and white sneakers.

The Detroit native, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, is seated in a chair opposite an AI incarnation of the Slim Shady character, who had short blonde locks while donning a white T-shirt with gray sweatpants and white sneakers.

‘I’ve been sent from the past to save our career,’ Slim Shady told Eminem. ‘Everything people think of when they think of Eminem, is f***ing yours truly.’

The reference to Machine Gun Kelly, 34, came toward the end of the interview, as the AI Slim Shady repeatedly prodded Eminem about his past sharp lyrics aimed at multiple celebrities.

Slim Shady told Eminem, ‘MGK f***ed your mother,’ to which an exasperated Eminem replied, ‘He did, but she’s your mother too, so you really need some help man.’

The past rivalry between Eminem and Machine Gun Kelly, whose real name is Colson Baker, spiked years back.

The musical artists had released diss tracks aimed at one another – Eminem’s 2017 track Not Alike and 2018’s Killshot, and MGK’s 2018 song Rap Devil.

The chat between Eminem and his alter ego also included references to multiple celebrities, including Richard Gere, Caitlyn Jenner, Vanilla Ice, Ja Rule, Moby, Fred Durst, Christina Aguilera and the late Christopher Reeve.

The Eminem vs Slim Shady discussion was made by the AI company Metaphysics, according to TMZ, which Eminem used in his video for the track Houdini earlier this year.

Throughout the newly-posted interview – which comes weeks after the release of Eminem’s new album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) – the Slim Shady character repeatedly made rude and profane references synonymous with the artist’s earlier years.

In response, Eminem preached a message of maturity, growth and sensitivity, reminding Slim Shady that his older material resurfacing on TikTok has nearly gotten him cancelled in recent years.

Slim Shady told Eminem that the reason for their chat was ‘an intervention’ in an effort ‘to save our career,’ which Eminem pushed back on.

Slim Shady responded: ‘We sold all that s*** off my back, b**** – don’t get it twisted – if it wasn’t for me, you’d still be wearing the same damn Nike Air hat. You’re not f***ing Taylor Swift.

‘You had one era that mattered, mine … from the blonde hair to the middle finger to the f***ing jokes, all of it, me.’

Slim Shady was also critical of Eminem’s recent releases, saying, ‘If we’re being honest, the music that you’ve been dropping since I’ve bounced ain’t it, for real – when I heard your last s***, I thought that s*** was f***ing AI.’

Eminem has had considerable commercial success with his latest release, which marks his 12th studio album.

The debut of The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) in the Billboard 200’s top spot dethroned Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department, which had been there for 12 weeks.
