Haley was arrested for driving under the influence on April 29, 2023.

According to police documents, she was driving the wrong way on a freeway in Pasadena, California, when her vehicle crashed into a car coming the opposite way.

In June 2023, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office confirmed that Haley was being charged with one felony count of DUI causing injury, one felony count of driving with a .08 blood alcohol content causing injury, and one misdemeanor count of hit-and-run resulting in property damage.

While Haley initially pleaded not guilty to all three charges, she later pleaded no contest to one of the DUI charges in exchange for the other two charges to be dropped.

She has already served three months in prison, after surrendering herself to the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood on April 29, 2024.

At the time, her attorney Mark Daniel Melnick told Entertainment Weekly that Haley will also be sentenced to five years of probation, 200 hours of community service, and more than $8,000 in restitution to the other driver.

After Haley’s court appearance on Monday, Melnick confirmed to People, “Haley was sentenced to probation with 90 days county jail with time served, a nine-month DUI program, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) program and continuing private counseling.”

Walking out of the courthouse, Haley rushed to hug her parents Alex and Judy Pollos.

“Thank you so much for coming,” she reportedly told the 68-year-old actress, who played Haley’s on-screen mother on General Hospital.

Police responding to the scene of the crash last April reportedly told TMZ that Haley was trapped in her car, as firefighters used jaws of life to extricate her from the vehicle.

Photos from the scene showed extensive damage to both cars, including shattered windshields and bonnets.

Haley was later escorted to a local hospital for treatment, as the other driver, Courtney Wilder, was also hospitalized with major injuries.

LEAVE OF ABSENCE

In May 2023, Haley told Soap Opera Digest she would be taking a temporary leave of absence from General Hospital “to recover” from the accident.

In March, Haley filed to dismiss Courtney’s lawsuit, with the soap star denying “generally and specifically each and every allegation” made by him.

She added that the damaged he incurred were caused “either wholly or in part, intentionally or negligently caused by person, firms, corporation, or entities” outside of her control.
