THE Talk may be coming to an end soon, but that isn’t stopping the hosts from giving the fans more of the talk show.

The CBS program is adding an exciting element in the final months.

The Talk is launching Stand Up and Talk, a comedy segment, according to Deadline.

Guest comedians will come on the show to tell jokes to the crowd and hosts for five minutes.

Stand Up and Talk will kick off on April 26 and happen every Friday until the daytime show ends.

Hosts Sheryl Underwood, Natalie Morales, Jerry O’Connell, Akbar Gbajabiamila, and Amanda Kloots will leave the stage for the comedy bit.

The set will be transformed into a comedy club.

“I am excited to bring two things I love together — standup comedy and The Talk,” Sheryl told the outlet.

“This is the first time The Talk has done a standup series, but it won’t be the last. See you every Friday!”

Sheryl is a comedian herself, but it is not clear if she will participate in the new segment.

Confirmed comedians include Wendy Liebman, Preacher Lawson, Zarna Garg, and Brad Upton.

Jackie Fabulous was the first comedian to perform on The Talk on April 12 and her set inspired the talk show to start the segment.

DONE TALKING

CBS canceled The Talk this month after 15 seasons.

The daytime show will come to an end in December.

Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, and David Stapf, president of CBS Studios, released a joint statement to Deadline about the cancelation.

“The Talk broke new ground when it launched 14 years ago by returning daytime talk to CBS with a refreshing and award-winning format,” they said.

“Throughout the years, it has been a key program on CBS’ top rated daytime line-up as it brought timely, important and entertaining topics and discussions into living rooms around the globe.”

“It goes without saying that hosting and producing a year-round talk show is no easy task, and we express our sincere gratitude to our amazing hosts Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Natalie Morales, Jerry O’Connell and Sheryl Underwood, our Executive Producer/Showrunner Rob Crabbe and the hardworking producing team and crew,” they went on.

The pair acknowledged and thanked their former hosts and colleagues.

“We truly appreciate the skill, creativity, and dedication everyone involved brought to the show every day,” they continued.

The presidents thanked the fans for watching every day and the guests who appeared on the show.

All of the current hosts are returning for the final season.

BEING REPLACED

With The Talk coming to an end, CBS has to find a replacement for it.

An all-Black soap opera called The Gates is being developed on the network, so that will most likely take its place.

The Talk originally replaced the soap, As The World Turns, when it premiered in 2010.

According to Deadline, the long-running series is the lowest-rated show on CBS’ daytime shows.

In terms of ratings, The Talk ranks behind The Young and The Restless, The Bold and The Beautiful, The Price is Right, and Let’s Make A Deal.

When it comes to talk shows, The Talk is third behind The View and Live! With Kelly and Mark.
