JAKE PAUL and Mike Tyson faced off in their long-awaited Netflix main event – but the action did not live up to expectations.
Fans fumed at the lack of action in the AT&T Stadium clash with both men barely landing a meaningful blow.
In the co-main event, Katie Taylor defeated Amanda Serrano in hugely controversial circumstances.

Iron bite
Netflix commentators were left baffled following Mike Tyson’s constant biting of his glove.
But the boxing mogul explained the reason behind it.
“Oh, I have a habit of biting my gloves, yeah,” said the former heavyweight champion. “I have a biting fixation.”
Tyson was seemingly joking about his famous disqualification against Evander Holyfield in 1997. On that night, Tyson was DQed after biting his opponent’s ear.
“I’ve heard about that,” replied interviewer Ariel Helwani. “I don’t want to know more…”
Payday
Just a reminder that Mike Tyson has still walked away $20m richer despite suffering a defeat at the hands of Jake Paul.
Whereas, the Problem Child has left the building with an extra $40m in his bank account.
Not bad for taking a few punches to the head.
Hearn on Tyson vs Paul
Fair to say Eddie Hearn wasn’t a fan of Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul.
The Matchroom chief admits he didn’t watch the fight, choosing to celebrate with Katie Taylor instead.
“I didn’t really watch it, I was in Katie Taylor’s changing room. I watched the first 30 seconds which were quite entertaining. After that it was horrible to watch,” he said.
“It was hard to watch and it was always going to be like that… Mike came out like a raging bull, but after that he was gassed.
“Mike’s a legend and he showed a load of heart, but you just don’t need to see it.”
Sad sight
Boxing fans aren’t happy as Mike Tyson’s Boxrec page has been updated following his loss to Jake Paul.
His record now stands up 50-7. A loss to former Disney star and YouTuber Paul is something no boxing fan from the 1990s could’ve expected.
Jutta little more love
Here’s how Paul and girlfriend Jutta Leerdam celebrated in the ring after his win over Mike Tyson.

Paul on world title ambitions
He said: “It can happen in the next 24 months, I believe I can become a world champion within six years of learning how to throw a f***ing jab. It’ll be the greatest sports story ever.
“The cruiserweight division is pretty open.”
Paul on in-camp injury
“22 days ago I sprained my ankle,” Paul said.
“I snapped the other side of my foot and was on crutches for four or five days. It really hindered my training camp. It made everything more difficult to get in the ring.
“I missed two weeks of sparring, I only sparred one or two times, that’s why my cardio didn’t feel good in there.”
Paul on ‘carrying’ Tyson
On Andre Ward comments that Paul carried Tyson: “I did, a little bit. He wasn’t really engaging back, I could tell his age was showing and I have so much respect for him
“After he slapped me I wanted to knock him down and stuff but as the fight went on that feeling went away.”
Future opponents for Paul
Paul on Gervonta Davis: “Is there a height limit in boxing?”
Paul on McGregor: “He won’t do it. He’s scared. He’s not his own boss.”
Paul at the presser
“I’ve been in this sport for four years, I’ve been so active. If people want to see more then give me a couple more months. I’m going to accomplish more,” Jake says.
Nakisa, his manager, says: “This young man who has four years in the sport just fought the baddest man on the planet on Netflix.
“And he took it all in like it was nothing. Now he’s going to do everything he has to do to become world champion.”
Suspension for Paul & Tyson
Mike Tyson and Jake Paul are both facing suspensions now that their huge Netflix fight is over.
Paul won their bout on points in what was an uninspiring contest in Texas.
The fight was a professional one and will go on both men’s records.
However, as a result, the pair could now be suspended.
This is because the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation will order them to rest up.
Both Tyson and Paul will have to rest for at least seven days.
The rules mean that the fighters will also be told to stay out the ring for three days for each round fought.
This means they are set to both be suspended for 24 days.
The regulations state: “Medical disqualification of a contestant is for their own safety and may be made at the recommendation of the examining physician or TDLR [Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation].
“A contestant who disagrees with a medical disqualification, medical suspension or rest period set at the discretion of a ringside physician or a disqualification or suspension set by the department may request a hearing to show proof of fitness.”
The punch stats
Well these make for pretty grim reading.
Mike Tyson landed a grand total of 18 punches across his 16-minute contest with Jake Paul tonight.
Paul landed 78.
Tyson vs Logan?
After the fight, Tyson brought up the idea of fighting Jake’s brother Logan next.
“I don’t know, it depends on the situation. I don’t think so, maybe his brother [Logan].”
Logan replied: ‘Mother I would kill you, Mike’.
How lovely.

Bite of the century
You may have spotted Tyson chowing down on his gloves for most of the fight.
Well, he’s explained it away in the most matter-of-fact way possible following his loss to Jake Paul.
No-love Bud
Terence Crawford isn’t reading from the script.
He wrote: “I love Mike Tyson, but they giving him too much credit.
“He looked like trash, to train that long and only throw 97 punches the whole fight is crazy. I’m just glad he didn’t get hurt out there.”
Round number
There are iconic rounds in boxing, stanzas that stand the test of time.
Hagler v Hearns R1, Bowe v Holyfield R10, Ruiz v Joshua R3, Wilder vs Fury R12.
Which round in Jake Paul’s two fights with Tommy Fury and Mike Tyson stands out for you?
fall out
My body clock is going to do more damage over the next two days than Jake Paul has done in two fights.
I will be lethargic, confused, off-balance, I will feel old and weak.
*phone rings*
“Yes I accept the offer to be Jake Paul’s comeback opponent live and exclusive on Dave.”
Options?
If broadcasters really want to snatch up the Jake Paul subscription loot, lets look for something more fun than these ‘boxing’ bouts.
‘Naked and Appauled’ – Jake is sent to desolate and uncontactable regions to live alone and survive – not even with cameras or a crew.
Thatch of the Day – Jake Paul replaces Gary Lineker with a late-night show that discusses his hairline and chicken hat.
Jake Off – Paul has all orifices stuffed with fruit compot and climbs into a hot oven while that Alison lady dances atop it.
Show must go off
Netflix close the show with Andre Ward thankfully adding some decency but making a mockery of the idea Canelo would duck Jake Paul.
The cheerleaders and shills who pedal this stuff must stop now.
It’s one semi-serious fight and one against a grandad – and he has ruined them both.
Surely these TV execs suss it now and ask him to do something else.
Buy his followers, sure, but don’t make them watch that bilge again.
Real boxing saves us
Chris Billam-Smith vs Zurdo Ramirez can save us tonight.
Two excellent and bonafide world champions who have come from the bottom.
If tonight’s farce has lured just one new person in, please hang around and watch CBS and Ramirez.
A shame
This was a chance to lure Netflix into live boxing action full-time.
Instead – even though their numbers might look good tonight – the PR is woeful.
The boos around Dallas could heard back here in West London.
The write-ups today and tomorrow will be ruthless.
Boxing is brilliant and dangerous and beautiful enough to engage people without actors and influencers using the sport to trick people.
Wise move Jake
The terrible boxer wisely decides to use his post-fight speech to thank American doctors and nurses and soldiers and farmers.
Takes a political road away from talking about his performance.
Tyson says he is not finished yet – offers to fight his brother Logan Paul.
On his future, Paul says: “I will fight anyone I want, I crashed the Netflix site and made history. Everyone is on my list.
“Canelo needs me – he knows I am the money man.”
Boo, Booooooo, BOO!
Jake Paul spins a yarn to the MMA reporter who pretends to love boxing.
He says: “It was tough like I expected it to be.
“He’s one of the greatest to ever do it.”
Tyson: “I am happy, yes. I came to fight.
“I didn’t prove anything to anyone but myself. I am just happy with what I could do. I had a knee injury but no excuses.
“I always bite my gloves, I have a biting fixation.”
Paul wins poor fight
Judges decide: 80-72, 79-73 and 79-73
So glad Tyson gets paid and stays safe.
Laughable performance from Paul, to add to the Tommy Fury stinker.
Let the lies begin
I didn’t want to knock Mike out
I only wanted to dance with him
I just wanted to get Mike paid.
Let’s see how much Netflix want to reinvest in that snorefest.
R8 Tyson vs Paul
Ahahahahah – Jake Paul. Get out of the game.
Go back to YouTube.
Excellent conman.
Never been a boxer.
