DR. Jennifer Ashton has opened up about how she’s feeling ahead of stepping down from her role as chief medical correspondent on ABC News.

The GMA 3 co-host will soon depart the network after 13 years to focus on her women’s wellness brand, Ajenda.

During an appearance on Tuesday’s episode of The View, Dr. Jen said she was looking forward to getting a little more sleep in the future.

When asked about how she was feeling about leaving ABC, Dr. Jen joked, “Tired.”

She also noted that she was looking forward to “sleeping past four or five in the morning.”

On a more serious note, the physician said she is “excited about the next stage and really focusing on what I’m board certified in,” which is women’s health and obesity medicine and nutrition.

END OF AN ERA

In April, the morning show announced the fan-favorite TV correspondent’s departure.

“It has been an honor to be at ABC and help cover the biggest health issues in the country and world over the past 13 years,” Dr. Jen said.

“My coworkers have become more than friends; they’ve become family and have seen me through the biggest professional moments of my life.

“I feel fortunate to have worked with the best in the business.”

In the comments of the post, the TV personality added that Ajenda would allow her to “continue her mission with many exciting new avenues.”

Dr. Jen, who is double board-certified in OB-GYN and obesity medicine, released her science-based newsletter, Ajenda, in March.

MIXED EMOTIONS

After garnering loyal fans on television over the past 13 years, many were sad to hear of Dr. Jen’s departure from ABC.

“Sooo excited for AJenda and all you do Will miss our morning laughs and daily catchups; will also miss your exceptional wisdom and compassion on the air,” one person commented on the Instagram announcement.
