Rapper Joe Budden calls Eminem outright trash and states: ‘I’ve been better than you throughout this decade

He is the king of controversy after all…
Let’s face it, an Eminem album wouldn’t be complete without stirring up quite a bit of controversy.
After all, the 51-year-old rapper, Marshall Mathers, originally carved out his reputation through shock rap and contentious lyrics.
Right from the start, it was clear that his latest album, “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce),” would follow in the same vein.

Yet, one track in particular has drawn significant criticism from listeners due to its ‘tasteless’ mention of a real-life tragedy that occurred in 2021.

In the song titled ‘Fuel’, Eminem references the tragic death of 42-year-old cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, who was fatally shot by a prop gun on the set of the movie “Rust” nearly three years ago.
His lyrics go: “But it’s in a holster, I proceed to bust it/ F**k around and get popped like Halyna Hutchins.
“Like I’m Alec Baldwin, what I mean is buckin’ you down, coup de grâce then.”
Alec Baldwin had been undergoing a trial in New Mexico, facing charges of involuntary manslaughter related to Hutchins’ death, but a judge has since dismissed the case.
Baldwin maintained that he did not pull the trigger that resulted in Hutchins’ death and argued that it was the responsibility of others on set to ensure the gun’s safety.
Eminem’s blunt reference to this incident has left many listeners in shock, prompting a flurry of critical responses on social media.

“Eminem dissing Halyna Hutchins and Alec Baldwin was not on my 2024 Bingo card,” commented one stunned fan on X.

The lyric was labeled ‘disgusting’, ‘disrespectful’, and ‘tasteless’ by other users.
“Love him, but that’s extremely disrespectful to her family,” another person commented.

The controversial reference to Alec Baldwin and Halyna Hutchins is not the only part of “The Death of Slim Shady” that has sparked backlash.
Eminem’s lead single ‘Houdini’ has been criticized for mentioning another shooting involving fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion.
“If I was to ask for Megan Thee Stallion if she would collab with me / Would I really have a shot at a feat?” he questions in the song, apparently making light of the incident where Stallion was shot in the foot by Tory Lanez in 2020.
Eminem doesn’t stop there; several other celebrities found themselves targets of his sharp lyrics throughout the album, which marks the end of his notorious alter-ego Slim Shady.
In addition to taking a jab at Amber Heard in the track ‘Lucifer’ concerning her 2022 defamation trial against Johnny Depp, Eminem also delivered a harsh criticism of fellow rapper Diddy in the song ‘Antichrist’.
