Fans thought they were set for an Eminem vs. Taylor Swift Super Bowl when the Detroit Lions appeared to have the San Francisco 49ers beat in the NFC Championship Game.

However, the Niners came up clutch to earn a trip to the big game.

Now it appears there might be some more Eminem/Taylor Swift beef where fans are concerned, as the rapper stopped the pop sensation from making history on Monday.

Taylor’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ had been at the top of the Billboard Top 200 12 weeks after debuting.

Given its long reign at No. 1, the album set multiple records, but it has been toppled as Eminem recently released his own album.

Eminem May Have Become A Thorn In Taylor Swift’s Side

Forbes has pointed out that one more week at No. 1 would have seen Swift tie Stevie Wonder’s ‘Songs in the Key of Life’ from 1976 as the longest-reigning top debut album ever. Unfortunately for the celebrity Kansas Chiefs fan, Eminem’s release of ‘The Death of Slim Shady’ has seen ‘TTPD’ knocked off the top spot as it’s gone on to fill that enviable berth.

“The Death of Slim Shady debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 281,000 equivalent units shifted,” Forbes noted.

“That sum is largely made up of streaming units, as the tracks featured on the project racked up an incredible 220 million plays on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music in the first tracking week the full-length was available. It also sold 114,000 copies, despite only being available to purchase digitally.”

While the probability of Taylor Swift’s album moving back to No. 1 remains high, it won’t break Stevie Wonder’s record, thanks to Eminem.

Taylor Swift found herself on the end of some strange criticism this week, given that it came from a fellow singer.

Country music star Zach Bryan took to X/Twitter to post something strange and out of the blue, given that there was no football to provide context at the time.

“Eagles > chiefs Kanye > Taylor who’s with me?” he tweeted.

It didn’t take him long to learn that most people weren’t with him…

Zach Bryan Tried Explaining Why He Made The Comparison Between Kanye West And Taylor Swift

Bryan has since apologized for the post, claiming he was intoxicated when he shared it and wasn’t trying to annoy Swift and her fans as he loves her.

“For the record guys I wasn’t coming for Taylor the other night,” he wrote. “I was drunkenly comparing two records and it came out wrong. I know there’s a lot of stuff that clouds around Ye and I was speaking purely musically. I love Taylor’s music and pray you guys know I’m human and tweet stupid things often.

“Hope I can explain this to her one day. Twitter gets me in trouble too much and I’d say it’s best I stay off it. I’m sorry to any Taylor fans I pissed off or let down. Love you guys and I’m trying my best!”

Bryan also claimed to have projected some frustration as he’s been going through a rough time.

He said he’s learned not to drink and tweet anymore. The country star has also deactivated his account following the backlash.

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift has yet to offer a response, and it’s unlikely she will.

As long as the Chiefs keep on winning and her career keeps soaring, she’s probably not going to entertain any vitriol, online or otherwise.
