Kelly, 43, appeared on the daytime TV show alongside Savannah Guthrie on Thursday at 8 a.m.

However, the R&B and pop music legend reportedly left the New York set prior to her 10 a.m. slot, for which she was supposed to act as co-host opposite Hoda Kotb.

Kelly was due to talk more about her new film, Mea Culpa, but left after she wasn’t happy with her dressing room.

“Kelly and her team were not happy. They did not like the dressing room, so they decided to pull her off the show, leaving [Hoda] without a guest host for the 10 a.m. hour,” an insider told Page Six.

Kelly’s team reportedly staged a game of “musical dressing rooms,” and set their sights on an upstairs green room because “they didn’t like the one she was in.”

However, fellow musician Jennifer “JLo” Lopez, 54, was already in the room, having arrived earlier than Kelly to promote her own album and film.

“They’re not nice. It’s the oldest building. There are major space limitations, [it’s] not glamorous. It’s not fresh flowers, and candles and gourmet food. It’s basically [a] white box,” one source claimed, describing the dressing rooms in the television studio.

The insider claimed that different rooms were offered, but, “They didn’t want that. [The show] basically offered up as much as possible, but they weren’t happy with it, so they walked and they left.”

Due to Kelly’s departure, Hoda was reportedly left without a co-host at the last minute, with Rita Ora eventually stepping in just in time to fill the spot.

On Instagram, Rita shared a selection of shots from her co-hosting appearance on the show, and confirmed that it wasn’t planned in advance.

FAN FURY

On X, formerly known as Twitter, many fans voiced their opinions on Kelly’s reported departure.

“Well, aren’t you a spoiled diva. Way to screw people over because you didn’t like your dressing room. If you think you’re on the same level as JLo then you are seriously off,” wrote one angry fan.

“JLo was there before Kelly. So JLo got the room. Kelly was being a brat and thought she was more important than others,” a second social media user slammed.

“Ridiculous,” said a third, with a fourth adding, “Rude and ungrateful.”

“The fact that Kelly Rowland thinks she is a diva is sending me!” another person joked.

However, some fans thought that there might be more behind Kelly’s departure, suggesting that potential beef with JLo or the mention of ex-bandmate Beyoncé in her first interview may have influenced her absence.

“Kelly and the girls took the backseat to JLo long enough … I guarantee if it was anyone else they would’ve made do until the room was available,” theorized one.

“All for them to eventually make Kelly’s interview about Beyoncé I would have left too,” said a second.

While Kelly was on the show to promote a movie appearance, she’s also been making a huge return to the music scene.

She reunited with Beyoncé in London last summer, with Beyoncé on her Renaissance tour and Kelly in the country to headline the Might Hoopla music festival.

The Mighty Hoopla was Kelly’s first show in the UK in 12 years.

Kelly reportedly wants to follow in Beyoncé’s footsteps by dropping an album without warning.

The When Love Takes Over singer – who hasn’t released an album for a decade – shared clues that she’s been working on music, and might surprise fans with a new project.

“It’s spontaneity. Everybody knows everything now. There are no surprises and it’s kind of annoying to me,” Kelly cryptically noted.
