It was controversial when the New York Jets decided to move on from head coach Robert Saleh, who had a 20-36 record with the team. He was considered instrumental in helping the Jets achieve one of the top defenses annually.

Now, it looks like he has moved on, and another team might have already claimed the defensive guru.

On Wednesday, he was spotted at the Green Bay Packer’s practice, presumably invited by his long-time friend and Packers head coach Matt LaFleur.

Of course, if you are a fan of the Packers, this doesn’t seem like a huge surprise because you likely know the history between LaFleur and Saleh.

If you didn’t know, Matt was the best man at Robert’s wedding, so there is plenty of history between the two.

Saleh’s attendance at practice could indicate that the Packers have already hired him in some capacity, but it could also mean nothing.

Early in the off-season, former Raiders head coach John Gruden was spotted at practice for the Kansas City Chiefs, and no hire was made.

However, Saleh is not expected to remain unemployed for long, as many teams would love his experience and expertise in the building.

Everyone Is Pointing Out the Irony Of Rober Saleh Potentially Joining Green Bay

There’s a common joke among NFL fans that the New York Jets just sign or trade for anyone who previously played or coached for the Packers.

Some prime examples include Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams, Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb, and Adriam Amos, just to name a few in the past couple of years.

Everyone now thinks it would be ironic for Saleh to join the Packers.

“Robert Saleh has the chance to do the funniest thing ever,” said one comment.

“Jets took all the old packers players now we’re taking ex-Jets coaches??” said another.

“Woahhhh I’m used to seeing the Jets take our personnel…” joked a third.
