Before the co-hosts: Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farrah-Griffith, Joy Behar, and Sunny Hostin, were abruptly taken off the air, they discussed some trending topics.

About eight minutes into the US daytime TV show, a breaking news segment where President Joe Biden addressed the ongoing protests happening on college campuses.

Across the United States, students are urging for a cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza and for their schools to cut ties with Israel or companies that are supporting the war.

These pro-Palestinian protests are happening at schools including UCLA, George Washington University, Columbia University, the University of Wisconsin, and the University of Arizona.

About 15 minutes later, the show returned with special guest star actor Jeff Daniels.

On X, formerly Twitter, The View fans were outraged at the breaking news interruption.

‘WE REALLY DIDN’T NEED THAT’

One angry fan tweeted, “Seriously ABC? Do we REALLY need y’all to break into the show??

“I hate when the news breaks into a tv show, but I hate when reporters explain what was said to us even more!

“Many of us have common sense and can understand what was said!”

A second questioned, “Why do they always get interrupted???”

The View audience shocked by hosts getting ‘up close & personal’ with audience in ‘raw’ 30-minute off-camera talk
“We really didn’t need that break in programming today,” a third pointed out.

This isn’t the first time fans have been outraged by an abrupt schedule change.

OUT WITH THE NEW, IN WITH THE OLD

Late last month, the co-hosts took some well-deserved time off for Spring Break.

From April 22 to April 28, ABC replayed old episodes.

The April 19 episode was pre-recorded.

Just this week, the usual hosts returned to their spots at the desk.

Meanwhile, at the time, fans were shocked by the lack of new episodes.

“What a gig these women have. More vacation days than you can count. @theview #theview,” one fan wrote on X.

Another said, “Already saw this [episode]. Off to do chores.”

“Oh. The View is a repeat,” a third commented.
